3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-32-42-860-060-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
   (1) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
4. Procedure

A. Installation of the Upper Rear Fairing
NOTE: Apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) on all nuts and connections when you have done the check of their torques.
   (1) Install the upper rear fairing.
F Upper Rear Fairing ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (2) Install the two small screws and nuts.
   (3) TORQUE nuts to between 40 and 30 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.34 m.daN ) T.
   (4) Install other screws and nuts.
   (5) TORQUE nuts to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN ) T.
   (6) TORQUE screws to between 45 and 35 lbf.in (0.51 and 0.40 m.daN ) T.

B. Washing of Parts
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Wash parts where you must apply sealant with acetone (Material No.CP1039) or stoddard solvent (Material No.CP2011) or ardrox 552 (Material No.CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No.CP2560) or mag-chem teksol (Material No.CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No.CP2584) or mag-chem skysol (Material No.CP2656) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) and dry with clean compressed air.

C. Apply Sealant
   (1) Apply sealant (Material No.CP2243) between the upper rear fairing and the hinge access bracket.
   (2) Apply sealant (Material No.CP2243) around the lower part of the rear fairing.
5. Close-up
Subtask 78-32-42-440-058-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).

B. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowls (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
