3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-32-42-860-059-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the blocker doors are in deploy position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-040).
   (4) Make sure that HIX3005 SAFETY SLEEVE - PIVOTING DOOR ACTUATOR are installed on the blocker doors.
   (5) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Make sure that the thrust reverser doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040):

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-42-420-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Ramp Fairing
   (1) Mixing of protective coating:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Mix protective coating PR1431 S-1 (Material No.CP2327) per manufacturer's instructions and apply a thin layer 0.007 in. (0.18 mm) max. on the structure surfaces you must protect.

   (2) If applicable, Install the upper/lower corner flanges on the half door.

     (a) Apply a thin coat of blindexite RT 342-2 (Material No.CP2318) on nine screws (10) and secure cut corner flange with the screws and nine nuts (20).
     (b) TORQUE the screws to between 53 and 45 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.51 m.daN ) T.
   (3) Install the upper/lower ramp fairings:

     (a) Apply a thin coat of blindexite RT 342-2 (Material No.CP2318) on seven screws (10) and three screws (30) then secure ramp fairing with the screws (10, 30) and two nuts (20) and three nuts (40).
     (b) TORQUE the screws (10) to between 53 and 45 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.51 m.daN ) T.
     (c) TORQUE the screws (30) to between 70 and 61 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.69 m.daN )
T.
   (4) Remove the unwanted protective coated with a SPATULA - NON METALLIC or equivalent.
   (5) Install the deflector:

     (a) Apply a thin coat of blindexite RT 342-2 (Material No.CP2318) on 12 screws (10) then secure deflector with the screws and 12 nuts (20).
     (b) TORQUE the screws to between 53 and 45 lbf.in (0.60 and 0.51 m.daN ) T.
   (6) Apply a bead of sealant:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Apply a bead of sealant (Material No.
CP2243) at the junction of the upper/lower cut corners with the upper/lower ramp fairings and if applicable, the upper/lower cut corner flanges. Apply a bead of sealant (Material No.CP2243) at the junction of the upper ramp fairing with the lower ramp fairing and at the junction of the deflector with the skittle beam and the upper/lower ramp fairing SPM 706611.

   (7) Make the strut surfaces rough where the seal (50) will be set with an CLOTH - ABRASIVE (GRADE 120-180).
   (8) Make rough the surface of the new AIPC 78-32-01-02-320 STRUT SEALS (50) you will bond. Use an CLOTH - ABRASIVE (GRADE 120-180).
F Strut Fairing Sealant ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (9) Cleaning:
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
     (a) Clean the nine o'clock strut and seal surfaces you made rough. Use acetone (Material No.CP1039) or stoddard solvent (Material No.CP2011) or ardrox 552 (Material No.CP2559) or turco ind 79 (Material No.CP2560) or mag-chem teksol (Material No.CP2566) or degreasol 99 R (Material No.CP2584) or mag-chem skysol (Material No.CP2656) or isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) . Rub area dry before solution evaporates.
   (10) Apply RTV 732 (Material No.CP2242) on strut and seal areas to be in contact SPM 706612.
   (11) Install the seals (50).
   (12) Install the two caps (60).
   (13) Fully fill the two holes of the strut with RTV 732 (Material No.CP2242) . Apply a bead of sealant around the strut SPM 706612.

   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser half doors but do not make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-040):

B. Remove the safety sleeve (HIX-3005) from blocker doors actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-080-040).

C. Bring the Blocker Doors
CAUTION: BLOCKER DOOR LATCH MUST BE OPENED WHEN YOU CLOSE THE BLOCKER DOOR OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Manually bring blocker doors to stow position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-041).

D. Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).
