   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust-reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-00-210-096-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. General Visual Inspection (GVI) of the Left and Right Thrust Reverser Inner Fixed Structure (IFS)
   (1) Examine the seals on the left and right thrust reverser halves (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-210-809).
   (2) Examine the thermal insulation blankets on the left and right thrust (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-210-803).
   (3) Examine the torque box on the left and right thrust reverser halves. Look for cracks, fractures, gouges, corrosion and other damage.
     (a) If you find corrosion damage, repair or replace the damaged component parts SRM 512200 or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
     (b) If you find other damage, look for damage limits and corrective action SRM 543000 or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
   (4) Examine the hinge beam on the left and right thrust reverser halves. Look for cracks, fractures, gouges, corrosion and other damage.
     (a) If you find corrosion damage, repair or replace the damaged component parts SRM 512200 or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
     (b) If you find other damage, look for damage limits and corrective action SRM 543000 or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
   (5) Examine the latch beam on the left and right thrust reverser halves. Look for cracks, fractures, gouges, corrosion and other damage.
     (a) If you find corrosion damage, repair or replace the damaged component parts SRM 512200 or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
     (b) If you find other damage, look for damage limits and corrective action SRM 543000 or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
   (6) Examine the C-duct on the left and right thrust reverser halves. Look for cracks, fractures, gouges, corrosion and other damage.
     (a) If you find corrosion damage, repair or replace the damaged component parts SRM 512200 or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
     (b) If you find other damage, look for damage limits and corrective action SRM 543000 or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
