WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-805).

   (1) Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-802):

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-32-00-210-093-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. General Visual Inspection of the Left Thrust Reverser Translating Sleeve
CAUTION: WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
   (1) Visually examine the left thrust reverser translating sleeve.
     (a) Examine the translating sleeve outer panel for cracks, holes, punctures, delamination and loose or missing rivets.
       1 If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact United Technologies Aerospace Systems (UTAS) for disposition.
     (b) Examine the upper and lower actuator access panel on the translating sleeve.
       1 Look for cracks, holes, punctures, wear and corrosion.
       2 Look for damaged or missing bolts.
       3 If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.
     (c) Examine the translating sleeve inner panel for cracks, holes, punctures, delamination and loose or missing rivets.
       1 If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.
     (d) Examine the blocker door drag links on the translating sleeve. Look for cracks, nicks, gouges, security of attachment, and other damage. If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
     (e) Examine the blocker doors on the translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-210-808).

B. Visually examine the right thrust reverser translating sleeve
   (1) Examine the translating sleeve outer panel for cracks, holes, punctures, delamination and loose or missing rivets.
     (a) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.
   (2) Examine the upper and lower actuator access panel on the translating sleeve.
     (a) Look for cracks, holes, punctures, wear and corrosion.
     (b) Look for damaged or missing bolts.
     (c) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.

     (a) If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual for allowable damage limits and repair procedures or contact UTAS for disposition.
   (4) Examine the blocker door drag links on the translating sleeve. Look for cracks, nicks, gouges, security of attachment, and other damage. If you find damage, replace the damaged part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-000-801) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-32-400-801) or contact UTAS for disposition.
   (5) Examine the blocker doors on the translating sleeve (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-00-210-808).
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-802):
