Installation of the Rod Supply Pipe of the Right Actuator
WARNING:
WEAR A FACE SHIELD WHICH IS RESISTANT TO HIGH PRESSURE JETS WHEN YOU WORK ON PRESSURIZED SYSTEMS.
WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THERE IS NO UNWANTED MATERIAL IN THE PORTS AND ORIFICES OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

B. Get Access

A. Install the Rod Supply Pipe of the Right Actuator.
(1) Remove the blanking plugs from disconnected line ends.
(2) Put the rod supply pipe of the right actuator rod on the forward frame.
(4) TORQUE nut to between 410 and 370 lbf.in (4.63 and 4.18 m.daN )
(5) Connect pipe on the interface bracket.
(6) TORQUE nut to between 420 and 376 lbf.in (4.75 and 4.25 m.daN )
(7) Connect the interface hydraulic hose on the rod supply pipe.
(8) TORQUE nut to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )

(9) Install the upper half clamp of the upper hydraulic line bracket.
(a) Install the upper half clamp, flange, bolts and nuts.
(b) TORQUE nut to between 30 and 27 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.31 m.daN )

(10) Install the half clamps which attach the electrical harness on the rod and head supply pipes.
(a) Position two half clamps.
(b) Install clamp, bolt, washer and nut.
(c) TORQUE nut to between 30 and 27 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.31 m.daN )

5. Close-up(1) Remove the blanking plugs from disconnected line ends.
(2) Put the rod supply pipe of the right actuator rod on the forward frame.
NOTE: You should apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) on all nuts and connections when you have checked their torques.
(3) Connect pipe on HCU and the middle hydraulic line bracket. (4) TORQUE nut to between 410 and 370 lbf.in (4.63 and 4.18 m.daN )

(5) Connect pipe on the interface bracket.
(6) TORQUE nut to between 420 and 376 lbf.in (4.75 and 4.25 m.daN )

(7) Connect the interface hydraulic hose on the rod supply pipe.
(8) TORQUE nut to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
. (9) Install the upper half clamp of the upper hydraulic line bracket.
(a) Install the upper half clamp, flange, bolts and nuts.
(b) TORQUE nut to between 30 and 27 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.31 m.daN )

B. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
Subtask 78-31-49-220-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
C. Make sure the clearance between the rod supply pipe and the hold-open rod is 4.8 mm (0.19 in.) minimum.
(1) If the clearance is correct, do close up paragraph.
(2) If the clearance is not correct, untighten the nut of the interface hydraulic hose and the nuts of the rod supply pipe.
(3) Put in right position the rod supply pipe.
(4) TORQUE the nuts using procedures above.
(1) If the clearance is correct, do close up paragraph.

(3) Put in right position the rod supply pipe.
(4) TORQUE the nuts using procedures above.
