CAUTION: USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
  • ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
  • ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE PARTS.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS NO UNWANTED MATERIAL IN THE PORTS AND ORIFICES OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION: YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

4. Procedure

A. Install the Lock-out Bolt Storage Bracket.
   (1) Apply a layer of blindexite RT 342-2 (Material No.CP2318) on the storage bracket surface in contact with the forward frame.
   (2) Install the storage bracket on the forward frame.
   (3) Install bolt and nuts.
NOTE: You should apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) all nuts and connections when you have checked their torques.
   (4) TORQUE the nuts to between 70 and 61 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.69 m.daN ) T.
5. Close-up

A. Remove the safety sleeve (HIX-3005) from the blocker door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-080-040)

B. Bring the Blocker Doors.
CAUTION: BLOCKER DOOR LATCH MUST BE OPENED WHEN YOU CLOSE THE BLOCKER DOOR OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Manually bring the blocker doors to stow position (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-041)

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-040)
