Removal of the Rod Supply Junction Pipe
WARNING:
WEAR A FACE SHIELD WHICH IS RESISTANT TO HIGH PRESSURE JETS WHEN YOU WORK ON PRESSURIZED SYSTEMS.
WARNING:
DO NOT GET THE FLUID ON YOUR SKIN OR IN YOUR EYES. IF YOU DO:
- FLUSH IT AWAY WITH CLEAN WATER
- GET MEDICAL AID.
CAUTION:
USE TWO WRENCHES TO REMOVE OR INSTALL THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS:
- ONE WRENCH TO HOLD THE UNION, AND
- ONE TO LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE COUPLING NUT.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THERE IS NO UNWANTED MATERIAL IN THE PORTS AND ORIFICES OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
CAUTION:
YOU MUST INSTALL HYDRAULIC TUBES WITH HYDRAULIC FLUID AS LUBRICANT.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
D. Drain the Actuator.
(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the actuator of the lower pivoting door.
(2) Disconnect the lower rod supply hose from the lower actuator and let the hydraulic fluid drain completely.
(4) TORQUE nut to between 150 and 130 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.47 m.daN )

(5) Remove the container.
4. Procedure(1) Put a CONTAINER 5 L (1.32 USGAL) under the actuator of the lower pivoting door.
(2) Disconnect the lower rod supply hose from the lower actuator and let the hydraulic fluid drain completely.
NOTE: You should apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) all nuts and connections when you have checked their torques.
(3) Reconnect the rod supply hose on the actuator. (4) TORQUE nut to between 150 and 130 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.47 m.daN )
. (5) Remove the container.
Subtask 78-31-49-020-073-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the Rod Supply Junction Pipe.
(1) Remove the upper half clamp of the double hydraulic line bracket.
(2) Remove nut and bolts.
(3) Remove the double flange and the upper half clamps.
(4) Loosen the bolt which attach the half clamps on the middle hydraulic line bracket, remove the other bolt and the upper heat shield.
(5) Remove the bolt, nut and lower heat shield from the forward frame.
(6) Disconnect the rod supply pipe from the middle hydraulic line bracket.
(7) Disconnect the rod or head supply junction pipe from the middle hydraulic line bracket.
(8) Disconnect the upper supply hose from the upper swivel joint and the supply junction pipe from the lower swivel joint.
(9) Remove the upper swivel joint from the junction pipe.
(10) Remove and discard the preformed packing.
(11) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
(1) Remove the upper half clamp of the double hydraulic line bracket.
(2) Remove nut and bolts.
(3) Remove the double flange and the upper half clamps.
(4) Loosen the bolt which attach the half clamps on the middle hydraulic line bracket, remove the other bolt and the upper heat shield.
(5) Remove the bolt, nut and lower heat shield from the forward frame.
(6) Disconnect the rod supply pipe from the middle hydraulic line bracket.
(7) Disconnect the rod or head supply junction pipe from the middle hydraulic line bracket.
(8) Disconnect the upper supply hose from the upper swivel joint and the supply junction pipe from the lower swivel joint.
(9) Remove the upper swivel joint from the junction pipe.
(10) Remove and discard the preformed packing.
(11) Put the PLUG-BLANKING in each disconnected line end.
