3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-31-42-860-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Make sure that the thrust reverser doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040)

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).
4. Procedure

A. Make sure of the cable for correct, unstrained routing.

B. Connect the right electrical harness to the components that follow:
NOTE: You should apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) on all nuts and connections when you have checked their torques.
   (1) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
   (2) Connect and tighten the electrical connectors with softnose pliers on to the following components.
     (a) The stow switches of the upper and lower blocker doors (1).
     (b) The beam electrical harness (2).
     (c) The electrical junction box (3).
   (3) Put the right electrical harness on the supports and on the HCU.
   (4) Install the clamps, bolts and nuts.
   (5) Install the two half clamps, clamp, bolt, washer and nut which attach the electrical harness on pipes.
   (6) Adjust if necessary:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS AND THE FORWARD FRAME PARTS OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Adjust if necessary by sliding electrical harness through clamps.
   (7) TORQUE nuts of the two half clamps from to between 0.33 and 0.3 m.daN (29.20 and 26.55 lbf.in ) T .
   (8) TORQUE other nuts and bolts from to between 0.45 and 0.35 m.daN (39.82 and 30.97 lbf.in )

C. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

D. Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system from the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040).
