A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
(3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

C. Make sure that the thrust reverser is unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-31-42-420-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Connect the left electrical harness to the components that follow:

NOTE: You should apply a witness line of finish paint EA4 blue 5991 (Material No.CP2245) on all nuts and connections when you have checked their torques.

(1) Remove the blanking caps from the electrical connectors.
(2) Connect and tighten the electrical connectors with softnose pliers on to the following components.
(a) The stow switches of the upper and lower blocker doors.
(b) The beam electrical harness.
(3) Make sure of the cable for correct, unstrained routing.
(4) Put the left electrical harness on the supports.
(5) Install the clamps, bolts and nuts.
(6) Install the two half clamps, clamp, bolts, washer and nut.
(7) Adjust if necessary

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS AND THE FORWARD FRAME PARTS OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.

(a) Adjust if necessary by sliding electrical harness through clamps or turn clamps to a good position.
(8) TORQUE nut of the two half clamps to between 30 and 27 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.31 m.daN )

(9) TORQUE other nuts and bolts to between 40 and 30 lbf.in (0.45 and 0.34 m.daN )

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

D. Do an operational test of the thrust reverser system from the CFDS (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040).

NOTE: As an alternative procedure, you can do this operational test without the CFDS:

first method with engine not running (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040)
second method with engine running (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040)
