A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

4. Procedure

A. Operational Test of the Secondary Lock.

Hydraulic Actuator and Latch ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

Thermal Blankets of the Blocker Door Latches ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

NOTE: The procedure is the same for each actuator.

(1) Turn the Dzus fastener on the thermal blanket (40) to loosen it and remove the blanket from the blocker door latch (15).
(2) Turn the manual unlock shaft on the blocker door latch to the unlock position with a 5/16 in. (7.9 mm) wrench.

NOTE: The manual unlock shaft can be accessed through a slot on the right or left side of the blocker door latch.

(3) Pull the blocker door by hands to make sure that the door cannot open. If the door opens, replace the actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-040) or (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-040).
(4) Push in on the blocker door until the latch engages to close the blocker door.
(5) Put the thermal blanket (40) on the blocker door latch (15). Turn the Dzus fastener on the blanket (40) 1/4 turn to lock it.

A. Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).
(1) Remove the lock-out pin from the operating control lever on the HCU.

B. Do an operational test of the Thrust Reverser System (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-00-710-040).

C. Close Access
(1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(2) Remove the access platform(s).
(3) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
