GENERAL VISUAL INSPECTION OF ACTUATOR ROD END ATTACHMENTS (BLOCKER DOORS DEPLOYED)
This task is available only for A/C equipped with actuator fitting assembly P/N 321-322-901-0 which contains fitting P/N 321-313-501-6. For further information, please refer to Airbus SB 78-1032/VSBRA32078-127.
NOTE: P/N 321-322-901-0 is the P/N of the fitting assembly itself. P/N 321-313-501-6 is the P/N of the fitting.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-31-41-941-070-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is OFF.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser
WARNING: MAKE THE THRUST REVERSER UNSERVICEABLE. IF THE THRUST REVERSER IS NOT MADE UNSERVICEABLE, IT CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY BECAUSE THE BLOCKER DOOR HOLD-OPEN ROD DOES NOT RESIST THE ACTUATOR HYDRAULIC PRESSURE. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONNEL AND/OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (1) Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

D. Open the blocker door manually (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-001).

E. Install the HIX3005 SAFETY SLEEVE - PIVOTING DOOR ACTUATOR on the blocker door (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-480-001).
4. Procedure

A. Do a visual inspection of the clevis and the related hardware as follows:

1.Examine the clevis and the related hardware for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted
If you find damage, replace the defective part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-803).
B.Missing
None permitted
If you find a part missing, replace the defective part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-803) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-803).
C.Bolts protrusion through the locking feature of the nut
Bolt must protrude a minimum of 1.5 threads through nut.
Replace the bolt with the bolt of the correct length AIPC 78-31-41-02.
2.Examine the blocker door actuator for:


A.Scratch
No scratch permitted
If there is a scratch, replace the actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
5. Close-up
Subtask 78-31-41-080-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the HIX3005 SAFETY SLEEVE - PIVOTING DOOR ACTUATOR from the blocker door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-080-001).
Subtask 78-31-41-110-054-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
B. Clean the hydraulic actuator rod:
   (1) Use isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) and a lint-free cotton cloth Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) to clean the actuator rod. make sure you clean around the end of the cylinder where additional debris will collect.
   (2) After cleaning, use hydraulic fluid wipes and do as follows:
     (a) Wipe the piston and cylinder/actuator cap rod end with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
     (b) Wipe the piston with hydraulic fluid NSA-307-110 type 4 (Material No.CP2212) .

C. Close the blocker doors.
CAUTION: BLOCKER DOOR LATCH MUST BE OPENED WHEN YOU CLOSE THE BLOCKER DOOR OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Move the blocker doors to the stowed position manually (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-002).

D. Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).

E. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-040):
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
