3. Job Set-up
Subtask 78-31-41-941-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position .

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-31-41-210-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Do a visual inspection of the clevis, the clevis access door and the blocker door actuator as follows:

REMARKS
1.Examine the clevis for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted
If you find some damage, replace the clevis (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
B.Crack
No crack permitted
If you find crack, replace the clevis (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
2.Examine the related hardware of the clevis for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted
If you find some damage, replace the defective part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
B.Bolts protrusion through the locking feature of the nut
Bolt must protrude a minimum of 1.5 threads through nut.
Replace the bolt with the bolt of the correct length AIPC 78-31-41-02.
3.Examine the clevis access door and the related hardware for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted
If you find some damage, replace the defective part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
B.Missing
No missing permitted
If you find missing, replace the defective part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
4.Examine the related hardware of the blocker door actuator for:


A.Damage
No damage permitted
If you find some damage, replace the defective part (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
5.Examine the blocker door actuator for:


A.Crack
No crack permitted
If there is a crack, replace the blocker door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
B.Hydraulic leakage
No leakage permitted
If the leakage comes from the nipples, check them for correct torque (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).


If the leakage continues, replace the preformed packing (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).


If the leakage continues, replace the actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).


If the leakage comes from the body of the actuator, replace the actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).
6.Examine the blocker door actuator rod for:


A.Scratch
No scratch permitted
If there is scratch, replace the actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001).

B. Do a visual inspection of the locking indicator as follows :

1.Examine the locking indicator for :


A.Position
The locking indicator must be in unlock position
If the locking indicator is not in unlock position, replace the actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001)
Subtask 78-31-41-480-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
C. Remove the safety sleeve (HIX3005) from the blocker door actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-080-001).
Subtask 78-31-41-860-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
D. Close the blocker doors.
CAUTION: BLOCKER DOOR LATCH MUST BE OPENED WHEN YOU CLOSE THE BLOCKER DOOR OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Move the blocker doors to the closed position manually (Ref. AMM TASK 78-32-41-860-002).

E. Do a visual inspection of the locking indicator as follows :

The locking indicator must be in lock position
If the locking indicator is not in lock position, replace the actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-000-001) and (Ref. AMM TASK 78-31-41-400-001)
5. Close-up

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the thrust reverser doors without making thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-040)
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
451AL, 452AR
     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
461AL, 462AR.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).

B. Make the thrust reverser serviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-081-041).

C. Close Access
