A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine shutdown occurred five minutes or more before you do this procedure.
(3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position in the right side of the engine.

C. Make the thrust reverser unserviceable (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-481-041).

D. Open the thrust reverser doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-040):
(1) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 78-31-17-020-051-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Beam Electrical Harness
(1) Remove the screws (80) that attach the deploy-switch access door (70).
(2) Remove the deploy-switch access door (70).
(3) Disconnect the forward frame electrical-harness (130) from the beam electrical-harness connector (140).
(4) Remove the three bolts (150) from the beam electrical harness (130).
(5) Loosen the coupling nuts of the deploy switch connectors (120) with the PLIERS - NOSE, SOFT, LONG.
(6) Disconnect the beam electrical harness (130) from the deploy switch (110).
(7) Remove the beam electrical harness (130).
