3. Job Set-up
Subtask 77-31-05-941-050-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

D. Open the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

4. Procedure
Subtask 77-31-05-020-052-A
A. Removal of the Environmental Control System (ECS) Upper Duct
   (1) If necessary, remove the ECS upper duct (Ref. AMM TASK 36-11-49-000-827).
Subtask 77-31-05-020-050-A
B. Removal of the Turbine Center Frame Accelerometer (PRE SB 72-0036)
   (1) Remove the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable loop clamps as follows:
     (a) Remove the bolt (7) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (6) to the support bracket (5).
     (b) Remove the bolt (9) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (10) to the support bracket (8).
     (c) Remove the bolt (11) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (12) to the support bracket (13).
     (d) Remove the bolt (15) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (14) to the support bracket (13).
     (e) Remove the bolt (17) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (16) to the support bracket (18).
     (f) Remove the bolt (19) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (21) to the support bracket (20).
   (2) Disconnect the electrical connector (22) from the turbine center frame accelerometer (2). Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT, if necessary.
   (3) Remove the two bolts (23) that attach the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) to the support bracket (24).
   (4) Remove the three bolts (1) that attach the turbine center frame accelerometer (2), accelerometer mount (3) and support bracket (5) to the fourth stage air manifold (4).
   (5) Remove the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) and the accelerometer mount (3) from the engine.
   (6) Install COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and connectors.

C. Removal of the Turbine Center Frame Accelerometer (POST SB 72-0036)
   (1) Remove the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable loop clamps as follows:
     (a) Remove the bolt (7) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (6) to the support bracket (5).
     (b) Remove the bolt (9) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (10) to the support bracket (8).
     (c) Remove the two bolts (11) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and the two loop clamps (12) to the support bracket (13).
     (d) Remove the bolt (15) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and loop clamp (14) to the support bracket (16).
     (e) Remove the two bolts (18) that attaches the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) cable and the two loop clamps (19) to the support bracket (17).
   (2) Disconnect the electrical connector (20) from the turbine center frame accelerometer (2). Use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT, if necessary.
   (3) Remove the two bolts (21) that attach the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) to the support bracket (22).
   (4) Remove the three bolts (1) that attach the turbine center frame accelerometer (2), accelerometer mount (3) and support bracket (5) to the fourth stage air manifold (4).
   (5) Remove the turbine center frame accelerometer (2) and the accelerometer mount (3) from the engine.
   (6) Install COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports, open tubes, open hoses and connectors.
