3. Job Set-up
Subtask 77-22-12-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch, and
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (2) Make sure that the INSPECTION CREEPER is in position under the right fan cowl.
4. Procedure
Subtask 77-22-12-420-050-A
A. Installation of the Lower Fan Case Dual Channel Thermocouple
   (1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
   (2) Install the thermocouple (2) on the support bracket (3) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (5) with Synthetic base lubricating oil - turbine engine (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Install the three bolts (5) that attach the thermocouple (2) to the support bracket (3).
     (c) TORQUE the three bolts (5) to between 1.40 and 1.20 m.daN (123.89 and 106.19 lbf.in ) T.
   (3) Connect electrical connector No. 1 (1) (P811B) of the HJ8B harness and electrical connector No. 2 (4) (P811A) of the HJ8A harness to the thermocouple (2) (
Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).

B. Test(s)
   (1) Do the FADEC test (menu mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-802).

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (3) Remove the INSPECTION CREEPER.
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
