Installation of the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor 7
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 77-21-10-010-121-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Get Access

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 77-21-10-010-122-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

A. Installation of the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor 7
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the EGT sensor 7 (131) is serviceable.

(5) Install a new EIPC 77-21-10-07-110 GASKET (134) on the turbine center frame (4).

POST SB 72-0086
(6) Install a new EIPC 77-21-10-07-105 GASKET (134) on the turbine center frame (4) with the spline on the frame side.

(7) Put the EGT sensor 7 (131) in position on the turbine center frame (4).
(8) Apply graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) to the threads of the two bolts (135).
(9) Install the two bolts (135) that attach the EGT sensor 7 (131) to the turbine center frame (4).
(10) TORQUE the two bolts (135) to between 124.2 and 105.8 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )

(11) Installation of the lockwire
CP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia .
(12) Connect the EGT harness lead 1 (132) and EGT harness 1 lead (133) to the EGT sensor 7 (131) as follows:
(b) TORQUE the large terminal tag of the EGT harness 1 lead (133) to between 32.6 and 29.5 lbf.in (0.37 and 0.33 m.daN )

(c) Connect the small terminal tag of the EGT harness 1 lead (132) to the EGT sensor 7 (131) small terminal.
(d) TORQUE the small terminal tag of the EGT harness 1 lead (132) to between 17.9 and 16.2 lbf.in (0.20 and 0.18 m.daN )

(13) Install new EIPC 77-21-10-07-070 SEAL (127) and new the EIPC 77-21-10-07-080 SEAL (124) on the TBV tube (122).
(14) Put the TBV tube (122) in position on the engine.
(15) Loosely install the V-band coupling (123) that attaches the TBV tube (122) to the air duct (121).
(16) Loosely install the coupling (125) that attaches the TBV tube (122) to the TBV left duct (126).
(17) Apply graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) to the threads of the two bolts (128).
(18) Install the two bolts (128) that attach the saddle clamp (130) and the TBV tube (122) to the bracket (129).
(19) TORQUE the two bolts (128) to between 74.6 and 67.5 lbf.in (0.84 and 0.76 m.daN )

(20) TORQUE the coupling (125) to between 121 and 109 lbf.in (1.37 and 1.23 m.daN )
.
(21) TORQUE the V-band coupling (123) to between 125 and 115 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.30 m.daN )
.
5. Close-up(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(3) Do an inspection of the component interfaces and the adjacent area.
(4) Make sure that the EGT sensor 7 (131) is serviceable.

(5) Install a new EIPC 77-21-10-07-110 GASKET (134) on the turbine center frame (4).

(6) Install a new EIPC 77-21-10-07-105 GASKET (134) on the turbine center frame (4) with the spline on the frame side.

(7) Put the EGT sensor 7 (131) in position on the turbine center frame (4).
(8) Apply graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) to the threads of the two bolts (135).
(9) Install the two bolts (135) that attach the EGT sensor 7 (131) to the turbine center frame (4).
(10) TORQUE the two bolts (135) to between 124.2 and 105.8 lbf.in (1.40 and 1.20 m.daN )
. (11) Installation of the lockwire
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Safety the two bolts (135) together with (12) Connect the EGT harness lead 1 (132) and EGT harness 1 lead (133) to the EGT sensor 7 (131) as follows:
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THE EGT HARNESS LEADS ARE IN THE CORRECT POSITION BEFORE YOU TIGHTEN THE CAPTIVE NUTS. IF THE LEADS ARE NOT IN THE CORRECT POSITION, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EGT HARNESS LEADS AND THE EGT SENSOR.
CAUTION:
DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE TO THE CAPTIVE NUTS. IF YOU APPLY TOO MUCH TORQUE TO THE CAPTIVE NUTS, YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TERMINALS ON THE EGT SENSORS.
(a) Connect the large terminal tag of the EGT harness 1 lead (133) to the EGT sensor 7 (131) large terminal. (b) TORQUE the large terminal tag of the EGT harness 1 lead (133) to between 32.6 and 29.5 lbf.in (0.37 and 0.33 m.daN )
. (c) Connect the small terminal tag of the EGT harness 1 lead (132) to the EGT sensor 7 (131) small terminal.
(d) TORQUE the small terminal tag of the EGT harness 1 lead (132) to between 17.9 and 16.2 lbf.in (0.20 and 0.18 m.daN )
. (13) Install new EIPC 77-21-10-07-070 SEAL (127) and new the EIPC 77-21-10-07-080 SEAL (124) on the TBV tube (122).
(14) Put the TBV tube (122) in position on the engine.
(15) Loosely install the V-band coupling (123) that attaches the TBV tube (122) to the air duct (121).
(16) Loosely install the coupling (125) that attaches the TBV tube (122) to the TBV left duct (126).
(17) Apply graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) to the threads of the two bolts (128).
(18) Install the two bolts (128) that attach the saddle clamp (130) and the TBV tube (122) to the bracket (129).
(19) TORQUE the two bolts (128) to between 74.6 and 67.5 lbf.in (0.84 and 0.76 m.daN )
. (20) TORQUE the coupling (125) to between 121 and 109 lbf.in (1.37 and 1.23 m.daN )
. (21) TORQUE the V-band coupling (123) to between 125 and 115 lbf.in (1.41 and 1.30 m.daN )
