Do not intermix old and new configuration of main flexible shaft/ferrule assembly.
END OF SB CFM56-5 72-469
(2) Engage the splined end (spring side) of the main flexible shaft in the fuel gear motor and stop mechanism assembly, through the protective boot for stop mechanism equipped with (PRE CFM56-5 SB 75-0038).
(3) Make sure that the main flexible shaft is correctly engaged.
(4) Install the bleed valve and master ballscrew actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-50-400-001).
(5) Do a manual operation check of the Variable Bleed Valve doors (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-00-200-001).
(6) Do an operational test of the FADEC on the ground (with engine motoring) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-040).

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Adjust the CLOSED position of the VBV doors (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-20-820-002) of the sector without the master bleed valve and ballscrew actuator.
(2) Set the VBV system sector which includes the master bleed valve and ballscrew actuator to the closed position (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-20-820-002).
Subtask 75-31-30-010-055-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL (1) Adjust the CLOSED position of the VBV doors (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-20-820-002) of the sector without the master bleed valve and ballscrew actuator.
(2) Set the VBV system sector which includes the master bleed valve and ballscrew actuator to the closed position (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-20-820-002).
B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)

BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE PROTECTING BOOT (PRE CFM56-5 SB 75-0038) ON THE STOP MECHANISM. ONLY BLEED VALVE STOP MECHANISM WHICH INCLUDES PACKED SEALED BEARINGS, HAS NOT A PROTECTING BOOT (POST CFM56-5 SB 75-0038).

CAUTION:
THE INNER DIAMETER OF THE NEW FERRULE HAS BEEN INCREASED AS THE HEXAGONAL END OF THE NEW MAIN FLEXIBLE SHAFT HAS BEEN ENLARGED.
(1) Main flexible shaft/ferrule configuration Do not intermix old and new configuration of main flexible shaft/ferrule assembly.

(2) Engage the splined end (spring side) of the main flexible shaft in the fuel gear motor and stop mechanism assembly, through the protective boot for stop mechanism equipped with (PRE CFM56-5 SB 75-0038).
(3) Make sure that the main flexible shaft is correctly engaged.
(4) Install the bleed valve and master ballscrew actuator (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-50-400-001).
(5) Do a manual operation check of the Variable Bleed Valve doors (Ref. AMM TASK 75-31-00-200-001).
(6) Do an operational test of the FADEC on the ground (with engine motoring) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-040).
