FAILURE TO POWER CYCLE THE EEC TWICE AFTER EEC INSTALLATION, EEC SOFTWARE LOADING, DATA ENTRY PLUG REPLACEMENT, OR DATA ENTRY PLUG PROGRAMMING CAN RESULT IN AN EGT INCREASE DURING THE NEXT ENGINE CYCLE.
(1) The EEC has to be cycle powered twice (Ref. AMM TASK 24-41-00-861-002). F. Enter the Engine Parameters
(3) If the EEC B installation is part of a dual channel replacement (EEC A and EEC B are replaced), enter the fan balance weights configuration with the menu mode (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-804). You must do this step on the two channels after you install them.
(4) Enter the Accelerometer Configuration with the menu mode (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-740-824) only if the LRU Identification- Report print- out from the removed EEC shows that the ACCEL CONFIG "TCF" or "PX36" was active.
Subtask 73-21-55-710-052-A CAUTION:
IF YOU REPROGRAM THE TWO CHANNELS, PRINT THE INSTALLED FAN-BALANCE WEIGHTS AND ENTER THEM AGAIN IN THE EEC. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, THE ENGINE FAN-BALANCE WEIGHTS WILL NOT AGREE WITH THE WEIGHTS SAVED IN THE EEC MEMORY. THIS CAN CAUSE INCORRECT FAN-TRIM-BALANCE CALCULATION AND A FAN UNBALANCE.
(1) Enter the engine Serial Number (SN) with the menu mode (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-740-810) on the installed EEC channel. NOTE: Make sure that the "ENGINE" SN shown on the screen is the same as the one written on the engine data plate.
(2) Enter the Nacelle Anti-Icing (NAI) lockout configuration with the menu mode (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-808) only if the print-out from the removed EEC shows that the Pressure Regulating and Shut-Off Valve (PRSOV) 2 was locked open.
G. Do these tests and tasks:
(1) Do the operational FADEC test on channel B with the engine non-motoring (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-802).
(2) Do the Oil Debris Reset (Menu Mode) procedure and enter the cumulative chip count that was printed before the EEC channel B removal (Ref. AMM TASK 79-36-00-740-801).
(3) Read the Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) identification report (menu mode) on the two channels to confirm that the data matches on the two channels (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-740-809).
(a) Engine thrust rating:
1 This input is available on the engine data plate.
1 The PN is available on the EEC software identification plate located on the EEC.
2 Make sure that the Control software PN is the same on the other channel. If the Control software PNs are not the same, an on-wing reprogramming will be necessary.
1 Make sure that the OMAP Software PN (SW2) is the same on both EEC channels. In some cases, the OMAP SW part numbers between channels can differ by a trailing "0". If the only difference is the trailing "0", it is permitted.
(d) Verify the N1 trim configuration:
1 The N1 trim level (0 thru 7) is available on the engine data plate.
(e) Verify the BUMP option: must read "Y or N".
(f) Verify the ENG CONFIG. Refer to Table 2 - "Hardware Configuration by Pin Configuration" of the (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-50-860-801). The ENG CONFIG value should read the same as the value mentioned in the column "Hardware Configuration" depending on the engine configuration mentioned on the engine data plate located on the left side of the fan frame.
(g) Verify the High Pressure Turbine (HPT) deterioration:
1 Must read "Y or N" based on the LRU identification report print-out of the removed EEC. If the print-out is not available, refer to the criteria defined in the Data Entry Plug (DEP) reprogramming task (Ref. AMM TASK 73-21-50-860-801).
(h) Make sure that the PHM software part number (SW3) is correct
1 Make sure that the PHM software PN (SW3) is the same on both EEC channels.
