   (2) Disconnect the fuel overboard drain tube (5) from the fuel drain tube (50).
   (3) Install a protective cover on the open end of the overboard drain tube (5).
   (4) If necessary, loosen or remove the nut (20) and bolt (15) and open the clamp (10) to move the fuel overboard drain tube (5) out of the way. If necessary, loosen or remove the bolt (25), washer (30) and nut (35) to move the tube (5).
   (5) Connect the hose and the adapter to the fitting on the fuel drain tube (50).
   (6) Pressurize the fuel supply drain manifold.
WARNING: DO NOT PRESSURIZE THE FUEL SUPPLY MANIFOLD NEAR AN OPEN FLAME. A FIRE CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Apply between 50 and 60 psi (3.4 and 4.1 bar) to the fuel drain tube (50).
   (7) Stop the nitrogen pressure source and monitor the pressure decrease for 2 minutes.
   (8) The decrease of pressure must not be more than 10 psi (0.68 bar) in 2 minutes.
   (9) If there is leakage of more than 10 psi (0.68 bar) in 2 minutes, do the following steps:

Pre SB CFM56-5B 72-181
     (a) Apply a small quantity of leak-tek 160X (Material No.CP2170) to all of the shroud connectors and the drain connectors.
     (b) Examine the fuel manifold shroud connectors and the drain tube connectors for leaks. The leaks will be shown by bubbles in the leak-tek 160X (Material No.CP2170) .

End of Pre SB CFM56-5B 72-181

Post SB CFM56-5B 72-181
     (c) Apply a small quantity of leak-tek 160X (Material No.CP2170) to all of the drain connectors.
     (d) Examine the drain tube connectors for leaks. The leaks will be shown by bubbles in the leak-tek 160X (Material No.CP2170) . If there are no leaks, go to step 4.C.(13).(a).

End of Post SB CFM56-5B 72-181

Pre SB CFM56-5B 72-181
   (10) If leaks are found at the shroud connectors, correct them as follows:
     (a) Stop the nitrogen pressure.
     (b) Disconnect the fuel drain tube(s).
     (c) Loosen the shroud connector and slide the shroud connector back.
     (d) Check the O-rings (140 and 150) for damage.
     (e) If no damage is found, tighten the shroud connector and install the drain lines.
     (f) If damage is found, replace the O-ring (150) at the shroud connector (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-40-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-40-400-002).
     (g) If a leak is at the drain shroud and the fuel supply tube, remove the drain tube and loosen the connector of the drain shroud.
     (h) Slide the drain shroud back to examine the O-ring (140) on the fuel supply tube.
     (i) If the O-ring (140) is damaged, replace the O-ring (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-40-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-40-400-002).
     (j) Do the steps (6) thru (9) again.
     (k) If there is still a leak at the shroud connector or at the shroud and the fuel supply tube, replace the nozzle (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-40-000-002) and (Ref. AMM TASK 73-11-40-400-002) and do steps (6) thru (9) again.
   (11) If there are no leaks, decrease the nitrogen pressure to between 8 and 12 psi (0.55 and 0.83 bar).
   (12) Isolate the 856A1115 CART,NITROGEN-FUEL MANIFOLD PRESSURE CHECK. The pressure must not decrease more than 5 psi (0.34 bar) in three minutes.
   (13) If there is still a leak and you cannot see the leakage at the fuel nozzle connections, do a check at the 6 o'clock junction box for leakage:
     (a) Apply leak-tek 160X (Material No.CP2170) to the connection of the fuel drain tube at the 6 O'clock junction box.
     (b) Apply between 50 and 60 psi (3.4 and 4.1 bar) to the fuel drain tube (50) and look for signs of leakage at the tube connection.
     (c) If there are no leaks, decrease the nitrogen pressure to between 8 and 12 psi (0.55 and 0.83 bar).
     (d) Isolate the 856A1115 CART,NITROGEN-FUEL MANIFOLD PRESSURE CHECK. The pressure must not decrease more than 5 psi (0.34 bar) in three minutes.

   (19) If necessary, attach the overboard drain tube (5) to the bracket on the bottom of the transfer gearbox with the bolt (25), the spacer (30) and the nut (35).
   (20) If necessary, TORQUE the nuts (20, 35) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN ) T.
   (21) TORQUE drain tube and coupling nut.
CAUTION: USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE FITTINGS WHEN YOU LOOSEN/TIGHTEN THE TUBE COUPLING NUTS. THIS PREVENTS DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.
     (a) TORQUE the overboard drain tube (5) coupling nut to between 250 and 200 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.26 m.daN )
