3. Job Set-up
Subtask 72-21-00-941-090-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M (3 FT)-ADJUSTABLE in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 72-21-00-020-080-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Remove the damaged fan blade shims, as necessary (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-00-000-003).

B. Removal of Grease from the Shim
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
   (1) Remove grease from the shim with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with acetone (Material No.CP1039) .

C. Removal of the Old Lubricant Coating
   (1) Remove old lubricant coating on areas A and B with scotch-brite type A CFS (Material No.CP2240) SPM 704111.
NOTE: Use scotch-brite type A CFS (Material No.CP2240) under tap water. Change the scotch brite frequently.

D. Mask the areas you do not coat with fiberglass adhesive tape (Material No.CP2208) .

E. Apply CP2229Molydag 254 (dry film lubricant) on the areas to be coated SPM 706311.
   (1) It is recommended to apply CP2229Molydag 254 (dry film lubricant) with a BRUSH - BRISTLED.
   (2) You must apply two coats maximum.
   (3) Overcoating is permitted in the radius areas.

F. Remove the fiberglass adhesive tape (Material No.CP2208) .

G. Make Sure that the CP2229Molydag 254 (dry film lubricant) application is correct SPM 706311.
   (1) The thickness of CP2229Molydag 254 (dry film lubricant) must be in the limits of 0.0006 to 0.0014 in. (0.015 - 0.035 mm).

H. Install the applicable fan blade shims (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-00-400-003).

A. Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.

B. Close Access
   (1) Remove the access platform(s).
   (2) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
