Subtask 72-00-00-620-053-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Preservation renewal requirements:
   (1) Period up to 30 Days - Operable Engine
     (a) If you do a 30-day preservation with engine idle run, this procedure can be renewed five more times for a total duration of 180 days (Ref. AMM TASK 72-00-00-600-001).
     (b) If you do a 30-day preservation with engine dry motor, this procedure can be renewed two more times for a total duration of 90 days (Ref. AMM TASK 72-00-00-600-001).
NOTE: During engine idle run, both oil and fuel circulate through its system. During engine dry motor, the fuel does not circulate through the complete fuel system.
     (c) After all allowed renewal are performed, the engine should then be preserved per the 90 day or the 30 to 365 day (operable engine) procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 72-00-00-600-002) or (Ref. AMM TASK 72-00-00-600-003).
   (2) Period up to 30 Days - Non-operable engine
NOTE: No renewal is permitted, the engine components should be preserved per the 30 to 365 day procedure (Split engine or Engine Modules).
   (3) Period up to 90 Days - Operable Engine
NOTE: Before the preservation, it is recommended to pre-lubricate engine sumps by hand-pumping oil through disconnected oil supply lines at lube unit and prelubricate lube unit by hand-pumping oil through lube-unit MCD ports using 856A2790 TOOL SET,DRYING AND RELUBRICATION-ENGINE OIL SUMPS and locally manufactured adapter.
NOTE: When performing renewal, there is no need to drain oil tank and/or add preservation fluid in the oil tank.
NOTE: It is necessary to operate the engine at idle to do this renewal procedure. Dry motoring procedure is not acceptable as an alternative to engine idle run to do preservation renewal.
     (a) One renewal is permitted (Ref. AMM TASK 72-00-00-600-002). The engine must then be preserved per the 30 to 365 day (operable engine) procedure (Ref. AMM TASK 72-00-00-600-003).
   (4) Period 30 to 365 days - Operable Engine
     (a) Repeat the entire procedure per the original 30 to 365 day preservation procedure.
1 Make sure that the engine is safely attached and protective cover is correctly in place.
   (5) Period 30 to 365 days. Non-operable Engine
     (a) No renewal is permitted, engine must be serviced and operable.
