3. Job Set-up

A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
   (2) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

   (1) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 72-00-00-280-056-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Dry out and Cleaning of the PS3 Line
   (1) Cut and remove the lockwires.
   (2) Disconnect the PS3 hose (30) from the ECU and from the PS3 tube (20).
   (3) Disconnect the PS3 tube (110) from the core engine as follows:
     (a) Remove the 2 nuts (130), the 2 bolts (100) and the 2-holes clamp (140) which attach the PS3 tube (110) to the bracket (120), on flange P, at the 8 o'clock position (Detail E).
     (b) Cut and remove the lockwires.
     (c) Disconnect the PS3 tube (110) from the reducer (150).
     (d) Remove the reducer (150) from the combustion case.
   (4) Check the hose (30) for blockage. If any blockage is found, replace the hose (30).
   (5) Blow clean dry air into the PS3 tube (20) end to remove any dirt or water accumulation in the PS3 line.

B. Installation of the PS3 Line
CAUTION: DURING INSTALLATION, MAKE SURE THAT THE PS3 LINE DOES NOT TOUCH THE LOWER STARTER DUCT OR OTHER PARTS IN THIS AREA. IF IT DOES, CHAFING OF THE PS3 HOSE CAN OCCUR.
   (1) Install the reducer (150) on the combustion case recess.
   (2) TORQUE the reducer (150) to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN ) T.
   (3) Safety with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
   (4) Connect the PS3 tube (110) to the reducer (150) on the core engine.
   (5) TORQUE the connecting nut to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
T.
   (6) Safety with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
   (7) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (100) with graphite grease (Material No.
CP2101) .
   (8) Install the clamp (140), the bolts (100) and the nuts (130) to attach the PS3 tube (110) to the bracket (120), on flange P, at the 8 o'clock position (Detail E).
   (9) TORQUE the nut (130) to between 70 and 55 lbf.in (0.79 and 0.62 m.daN ) T.
   (10) Lubricate the ECU and PS3 tube (20) nipples with engine fuel.
   (11) Connect the PS3 hose (30) to the ECU and to the PS3 tube (20).
   (12) TORQUE the PS3 hose connecting nuts to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )
T.
   (13) Safety with CP8001lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia.
