A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):

(4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

A. Inspection of the PS3 Line Connections
(2) Disconnect the PS3 tube (20) from the PS3 hose (30).
(3) Cut and remove the lockwire which safeties the PS3 tube (20) to the PS3 air tube (10).
(4) Disconnect the PS3 tube (20) from the PS3 air tube (10).
(5) Remove the nut (40), the bolt (60), the outer spring clip (50), the inner spring clip (80) and the plastic bushing (90) which attach the PS3 tube (20) to the bracket (70), on flange H, at the 5 o'clock position (Detail D).
(6) Remove the PS3 tube (20) from the engine.
(7) Inspect the connecting parts as follows:
(8) If necessary, clean the parts with: isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
(9) If necessary, remove the dirt from the ECU nipple with a WIRE - PLASTIC. Take care to not introduce dirt into the ECU.

(10) Check weep hole of the PS3 air tube (10) for clogging or dirt accumulation.
(11) If necessary, clean the weep hole of the PS3 air tube (10) with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) and a WIRE - PLASTIC.

(12) Check weep hole and weep hole fitting (water trap) of the PS3 air tube (10) for clogging or dirt accumulation.
(13) If necessary, clean the weep hole and weep hole fitting with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) and a WIRE - PLASTIC.

Subtask 72-00-00-420-052-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL NOTE: Do the steps which follows only if you suspect leakage.
(1) Cut and remove the lockwire which safeties the PS3 hose (30) to the PS3 tube (20). (2) Disconnect the PS3 tube (20) from the PS3 hose (30).
(3) Cut and remove the lockwire which safeties the PS3 tube (20) to the PS3 air tube (10).
(4) Disconnect the PS3 tube (20) from the PS3 air tube (10).
(5) Remove the nut (40), the bolt (60), the outer spring clip (50), the inner spring clip (80) and the plastic bushing (90) which attach the PS3 tube (20) to the bracket (70), on flange H, at the 5 o'clock position (Detail D).
(6) Remove the PS3 tube (20) from the engine.
(7) Inspect the connecting parts as follows:

(9) If necessary, remove the dirt from the ECU nipple with a WIRE - PLASTIC. Take care to not introduce dirt into the ECU.

(10) Check weep hole of the PS3 air tube (10) for clogging or dirt accumulation.
(11) If necessary, clean the weep hole of the PS3 air tube (10) with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) and a WIRE - PLASTIC.

B. Installation of the PS3 Line
(2) Connect the PS3 tube (20) to the PS3 air tube (10) nipple.
(3) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (60) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(4) Install the plastic bushing (90), the bolt (60), the inner spring clip (80), the outer spring clip (50) and the nut (40) to attach the PS3 tube (20) to the bracket (70), on flange H at the 5 o'clock position (Detail D).
(5) TORQUE the PS3 tube (20) connecting nut to the PS3 air tube (10) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )

(6) Safety withCP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia .
(7) TORQUE the nuts (40) to between 55 and 50 lbf.in (0.62 and 0.57 m.daN )
.
(8) Lubricate the ECU and PS3 tube (20) nipples with engine fuel.
(9) Connect the PS3 hose (30) to the ECU and to the PS3 tube (20).
(10) TORQUE the PS3 hose connecting nuts to between 300 and 270 lbf.in (3.39 and 3.05 m.daN )

(11) Safety withCP8001 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia. or CP8002 lockwire 0.032 in. (0.8 mm) dia .
5. Close-upCAUTION:
DURING INSTALLATION, MAKE SURE THAT THE PS3 LINE DOES NOT TOUCH THE LOWER STARTER DUCT OR OTHER PARTS IN THIS AREA. IF IT DOES, CHAFING OF THE PS3 HOSE CAN OCCUR.
(1) Lubricate the threads of the PS3 air tube (10) nipple with engine fuel. (2) Connect the PS3 tube (20) to the PS3 air tube (10) nipple.
(3) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (60) with graphite grease (Material No.CP2101) .
(4) Install the plastic bushing (90), the bolt (60), the inner spring clip (80), the outer spring clip (50) and the nut (40) to attach the PS3 tube (20) to the bracket (70), on flange H at the 5 o'clock position (Detail D).
(5) TORQUE the PS3 tube (20) connecting nut to the PS3 air tube (10) to between 150 and 135 lbf.in (1.70 and 1.53 m.daN )
