A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).

   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-71-49-420-053-A
A. Install the core drain mast (142) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-42-400-802).
Subtask 71-71-49-420-054-A
B. Installation of the Core Drain Tubes on the Left Side of the Engine
   (1) Remove all the protective covers and protective caps from all open connectors and receptacles.
   (2) Install the tubes (99) and (106) to the A-sump drain as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (101) and bolts (104) and (107) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Put the P-clamp (100) in position on the tube (99). Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
     (c) Engage and manually tighten the coupling nut (143) of the tube (99) to the core drain mast (142) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-42-400-802).
     (d) Install the P-clamp (100) on the tube (99) with the bolt (101) to the support bracket (102).
     (e) Manually tighten the bolt (101).
     (f) Put the P-clamps (105) and (108) in position on the tube (106). Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
     (g) Engage the coupling nut (103) of the tube (106) to the tube (99).
     (h) Manually tighten the coupling nut (103).
     (i) Install the P-clamps (105) and (108) on the tube (106) with the bolts (104) and (107).
     (j) Manually tighten the bolts (104) and (107).
     (k) Engage the coupling nut (109) of the tube (106) to the A-sump drain.
     (l) Manually tighten the coupling nut (109).
     (m) TORQUE the coupling nut (143) to between 6.10 and 5.20 m.daN (44.99 and 38.35 lbf.ft ) T.
     (n) TORQUE the coupling nut (103) to between 6.10 and 5.20 m.daN (44.99 and 38.35 lbf.ft )
T.
     (o) TORQUE the coupling nut (109) to between 6.10 and 5.20 m.daN (44.99 and 38.35 lbf.ft )
T.
     (p) TORQUE the bolt (101) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )

   (3) Install the tubes (134) and (129) to the B-sump drain as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (133) and (131) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Engage and manually tighten the coupling nut (141) of the tube (134) to the core drain mast (142) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-42-400-802).
     (c) Engage the coupling nut (135) of the tube (129) to the tube (134).
     (d) Manually tighten the coupling nut (135).
     (e) Install the P-clamps (132) and (130) on the tube (129) with the bolts (133) and (131) to the support bracket (127).
     (f) Manually tighten the bolts (133) and (131).
     (g) Engage the coupling nut (128) of the tube (129) to the B-sump drain.
     (h) Manually tighten the coupling nut (128).
     (i) Engage the hydraulic connection (126) of the tube (129) to the B-sump drain.
     (j) Manually tighten the hydraulic connection (126).
     (k) TORQUE the coupling nut (141) to between 8.81 and 7.46 m.daN (64.97 and 55.01 lbf.ft ) T.
     (l) TORQUE the coupling nut (135) to between 8.81 and 7.46 m.daN (64.97 and 55.01 lbf.ft )
T.
     (m) TORQUE the coupling nut (128) to between 6.10 and 5.20 m.daN (44.99 and 38.35 lbf.ft )
T.
     (n) TORQUE the hydraulic connection (126) to between 6.10 and 5.20 m.daN (44.99 and 38.35 lbf.ft )
T.
     (o) TORQUE the bolts (133) and (131) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )

   (4) Install the tubes (70), (150) and (137) to the LHS pylon drain as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (139), (154), (149), (163), (173), (171) and (159) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Engage and manually tighten the coupling nut (140) of the tube (137) to the core drain mast (142) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-42-400-802).
     (c) Install the P-clamp (138) on the tube (137) with the bolt (139) to the support bracket (136).
     (d) Install the P-clamp (153) on the tube (137) with the bolt (154) to the support bracket (155).
     (e) Manually tighten the bolts (139) and (154).
     (f) Engage the coupling nut (152) of the tube (137) to the tube (150).
     (g) Manually tighten the coupling nut (152).
     (h) Install the P-clamp (148) on the tube (150) with the bolt (149) to the support bracket (151).
     (i) Install the P-clamp (162) on the tube (150) with the bolt (163).
     (j) Manually tighten the bolts (149) and (163).
     (k) Engage the coupling nut (161) of the tube (150) to the tube (70).
     (l) Manually tighten the coupling nut (161).
     (m) Install the P-clamp (158) on the tube (70) with the bolt (159) to the support bracket (164).
     (n) Install the P-clamp (172) on the tube (70) with the bolt (173) to the support bracket (174).
     (o) Install the P-clamp (170) on the tube (70) with the bolt (171) to the support bracket (175).
     (p) Manually tighten the bolts (159), (173) and (171).
     (q) Engage the coupling nut (75) of the tube (70) to the pylon drain (76).
     (r) Manually tighten the coupling nut (75).
     (s) TORQUE the coupling nut (140) to between 6.10 and 5.20 m.daN (44.99 and 38.35 lbf.ft ) T.
     (t) TORQUE the coupling nut (152) to between 6.10 and 5.20 m.daN (44.99 and 38.35 lbf.ft )

     (b) Engage and manually tighten the coupling nut (144) of the tube (96) to the core drain mast (142) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-42-400-802).
     (c) Install the P-clamp (97) on the tube (96) with the bolt (98) to the support bracket (102).
     (d) Manually tighten the bolt (98).
     (e) Engage the coupling nut (95) of the tube (80) to the tube (96).
     (f) Manually tighten the coupling nut (95).
     (g) Install the P-clamp (78) on the tube (80) with the bolt (79).
     (h) Manually tighten the bolt (79).
     (i) Engage the coupling nut (82) of the tube (77) to the tube (80).
     (j) Manually tighten the coupling nut (82).
     (k) Engage the hydraulic connection (81) of the tube (80) to the MTCC and VBV valve connection.

     (c) Manually tighten the coupling nut (117).
     (d) Install the P-clamps (115) and (120) on the tube (114) with the bolts (116) and (119) to the support brackets (118) and (121).
     (e) Manually tighten the bolts (116) and (119).
     (f) Engage the coupling nut (113) of the tube (114) to the tube (110).
     (g) Manually tighten the coupling nut (113).
     (h) Install the P-clamp (111) on the tube (110) with the bolt (112) to the support bracket (122).
     (i) Manually tighten the bolt (112).
     (j) Engage the coupling nut (165) of the tube (110) to the tube (166).

   (2) Install the tubes (249), (231), (246), (224) and (275) of the VSV, MTC and VBV drain lines as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (257), (264), (250), (252), (244), (230) and (237) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Engage and manually tighten the coupling nut (258) of the tube (249) to the core drain mast (142) (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-42-400-802).
     (c) Install the P-clamp (256) on the tube (249) with the bolt (257).
     (d) Install the P-clamp (265) on the tube (249) with the bolt (264) to the support bracket (255).
     (e) Manually tighten the bolts (257) and (264).
     (f) Engage the coupling nut (248) of the tube (249) to the tube (231).
     (g) Manually tighten the coupling nut (248).
     (h) Install the P-clamp (251) on the tube (231) with the bolt (250) to the support bracket (254).
     (i) Install the P-clamp (253) on the tube (231) with the bolt (252).
     (j) Manually tighten the bolts (250) and (252).
     (k) Engage the coupling nut (247) of the tube (246) to the tube (231).
     (l) Manually tighten the coupling nut (247).

     (c) Install the P-clamp (256) on the tube (249) with the bolt (257).
     (d) Install the P-clamp (265) on the tube (249) with the bolt (264) to the support bracket (255).
     (e) Manually tighten the bolts (257) and (264).
     (f) Engage the coupling nut (248) of the tube (249) to the tube (231).
     (g) Manually tighten the coupling nut (248).
     (h) Install the P-clamp (251) on the tube (231) with the bolt (250) to the support bracket (254).
     (i) Install the P-clamp (253) on the tube (231) with the bolt (252).
     (j) Manually tighten the bolts (250) and (252).
     (k) Engage the coupling nut (247) of the tube (246) to the tube (231).
     (l) Manually tighten the coupling nut (247).

     (d) Manually tighten the bolt (237).

     (b) Engage the tube (7) to the fan drain mast (26) coupling nut (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-41-400-802).
     (c) Manually tighten the fan drain mast (26) connection.

     (f) Engage the coupling nut (51) of the tube (23) to the port (50) on the gearbox (28).
     (g) Manually tighten the coupling nut (51).
     (h) TORQUE the fan drain mast (26) coupling nut to the tube (23) to between 3.39 and 2.98 m.daN (25.00 and 21.98 lbf.ft ) T.
     (i) TORQUE the coupling nut (51) to between 3.39 and 2.98 m.daN (25.00 and 21.98 lbf.ft )

   (5) Install the tubes (24) and (25) to the gearbox (28) as follows:
     (a) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (46), (44) and (40) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (b) Engage the tubes (24) and (25) to the fan drain mast (26) coupling nuts (Ref. AMM TASK 71-71-41-400-802).
     (c) Manually tighten the fan drain mast (26) connections.
     (d) Install the tube clamp (45) on the tubes (23), (24) and (25) with the two bolts (46) to the support bracket (47).
     (e) Install the tube clamp (43) on the tubes (23) and (24) with the bolt (44) to the support bracket (48).
     (f) Install the P-clamp (39) on the tube (24) with the bolt (40) to the support bracket (41).
     (g) Manually tighten the bolts (46), (44) and (40).
     (h) Engage the coupling nut (38) of the tube (24) to the port (37) on the gearbox (28).
     (i) Manually tighten the coupling nut (38).
     (j) Engage the coupling nut (42) of the tube (25) to the port (49) on the gearbox (28).
     (k) Manually tighten the coupling nut (42).
     (l) TORQUE the fan drain mast (26) coupling nuts to tubes (24) and (25) to between 3.39 and 2.98 m.daN (25.00 and 21.98 lbf.ft ) T.
     (m) TORQUE the coupling nut (38) to between 3.39 and 2.98 m.daN (25.00 and 21.98 lbf.ft )
