Installation of the Core Drain Mast

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-71-42-010-067-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 71-71-42-010-068-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

(2) Make sure that the Nacelle Anti-Icing (NAI) pressure sensor sense line (17) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-11-000-801).
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

(2) Make sure that the Nacelle Anti-Icing (NAI) pressure sensor sense line (17) is removed (Ref. AMM TASK 30-21-11-000-801).
Subtask 71-71-42-420-061-A
A. Installation of the Core Drain Mast
(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (2), the bolt (4) and the two bolts (14) with Synthetic base lubricating oil - turbine engine (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
(3) Put the core drain mast (3) in position on the engine.
(4) Attach the support bracket (16) to the air NAI duct (15) with the two bolts (14) and the two washers (18).
(5) Attach the six coupling nuts (6), (7), (8), (9), (10) and (11) to the core drain mast (3).
(6) Install the bolt (4) in the support bracket (1).
(7) Install the bolt (2) in the support bracket (1).
(8) TORQUE the coupling nut (8) to between 6.09 and 5.21 m.daN (44.91 and 38.42 lbf.ft )

(9) TORQUE the coupling nut (7) to between 3.47 and 2.96 m.daN (25.59 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
.
(10) TORQUE the coupling nut (6) to between 6.09 and 5.21 m.daN (44.91 and 38.42 lbf.ft )
.
(11) TORQUE the coupling nut (9) to between 8.80 and 7.47 m.daN (64.90 and 55.09 lbf.ft )
.
(12) TORQUE the coupling nut (10) to between 6.09 and 5.21 m.daN (44.91 and 38.42 lbf.ft )
.
(13) TORQUE the coupling nut (11) to between 3.47 and 2.96 m.daN (25.59 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
.
(14) TORQUE the two bolts (14) to between 0.79 and 0.68 m.daN (69.91 and 60.18 lbf.in )
.
(15) TORQUE the bolt (2) to between 1.43 and 1.23 m.daN (126.55 and 108.85 lbf.in )
.
(16) TORQUE the bolt (4) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
.
5. Close-up(1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION from the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Lubricate the threads of the bolt (2), the bolt (4) and the two bolts (14) with Synthetic base lubricating oil - turbine engine (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
(3) Put the core drain mast (3) in position on the engine.
(4) Attach the support bracket (16) to the air NAI duct (15) with the two bolts (14) and the two washers (18).
(5) Attach the six coupling nuts (6), (7), (8), (9), (10) and (11) to the core drain mast (3).
(6) Install the bolt (4) in the support bracket (1).
(7) Install the bolt (2) in the support bracket (1).
(8) TORQUE the coupling nut (8) to between 6.09 and 5.21 m.daN (44.91 and 38.42 lbf.ft )
. (9) TORQUE the coupling nut (7) to between 3.47 and 2.96 m.daN (25.59 and 21.83 lbf.ft )
. (10) TORQUE the coupling nut (6) to between 6.09 and 5.21 m.daN (44.91 and 38.42 lbf.ft )
. (11) TORQUE the coupling nut (9) to between 8.80 and 7.47 m.daN (64.90 and 55.09 lbf.ft )
. (12) TORQUE the coupling nut (10) to between 6.09 and 5.21 m.daN (44.91 and 38.42 lbf.ft )
