A. Flow Check of the Engine and Pylon Drain System
(a) Disconnect the top end of the main gearbox drain tube from the main gearbox adapter.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the main gearbox drain tube to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the main gearbox drain tube.
1 If there is no airflow, examine the main gearbox drain tube to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the main gearbox drain tube to the main gearbox adapter finger-tight.
(h) TORQUE the main gearbox drain tube B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 255 and 225 lbf.in (2.88 and 2.54 m.daN )

(2) Do a flow check of the drain tubes (DR22) and (DR23) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the drain tube (DR23) from the top end of the drain tube (DR22) and the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) secondary unit.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR22) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the HPC SVA secondary unit location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR22).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR23) to collect all unwanted material.
(h) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the bottom end of the drain tube (DR23).
(i) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR23).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the drain tube (DR23) to find and correct the cause.
(j) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(k) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(l) Connect the drain tube (DR23) B-nuts to the top end of the drain tube (DR22) and the HPC SVA secondary unit finger-tight.
(m) Torque the drain tube (DR23) B-nuts as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )

(3) Do a flow check of the scupper drain tube as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the scupper drain tube from the oil tank cap.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the scupper drain tube to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the bottom end of the scupper drain tube.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the scupper drain tube.
1 If there is no airflow, examine the scupper drain tube to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005)
(g) Connect the top end of the scupper drain tube to the oil tank cap finger-tight.
(h) TORQUE the scupper drain tube B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 315 and 300 lbf.in (3.56 and 3.39 m.daN )

(4) Do a flow check of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top ends of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose from the pylon.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top ends of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the pylon fuel location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top ends of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose.
1 If there is no airflow, examine the pylon fuel drain hose, the wing fuel drain hose, the drain manifold (DR121), and all other related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top ends of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose to the pylon finger-tight.
(h) Torque the pylon fuel drain hose B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 210 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.37 m.daN )

(i) Torque the wing fuel drain hose B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 420 and 340 lbf.in (4.75 and 3.84 m.daN )
.
.
(5) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR01) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR01) from the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA).
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR01) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the LPC SVA location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR01).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the drain tube (DR01) to the LPC SVA finger-tight.
(h) Torque the drain tube (DR01) B-nuts as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )

(6) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR11) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR11) from the LPC 2.5 bleed valve actuator.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR11) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the 2.5 bleed valve actuator location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR11).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the drain tube (DR11) to the LPC 2.5 bleed actuator finger-tight.
(h) Torque the drain tube (DR11) B-nuts as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )

(7) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR41) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR41) from the fuel manifold.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR41) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the integrated fuel pump and control location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR41).
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the drain tube (DR41) to the fuel manifold finger-tight
(h) Torque the drain tube (DR41) B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
.

(8) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR51) as follows:
(a) Remove the bolt (2) and disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR51) from the main gearbox.
(b) Remove and discard the packing - preformed (1) from the drain tube (DR51).
(c) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR51) to collect all unwanted material.
(d) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the Engine Driven Pump (EDP) location on the drain mast.
(e) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR51).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(f) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(g) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(h) Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the bolt (2).
(j) Install the drain tube (DR51) on the main gearbox with the bolt (2) finger-tight.
(k) TORQUE the bolt (2) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
.
(9) Do a flow check of the drain tube (FB01) as follows:
(a) Remove the necessary fan exit liner segment to get access to the drain tube (FB01) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-08-000-801).
(b) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (FB01) from the ecology tank.
(c) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (FB01) to collect all unwanted material.
(d) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the ecology tank location on the drain mast.
(e) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (FB01).
1 If there is no airflow, examine the drain tube (FB01), the drain tube (FB02), and all the other related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(f) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(g) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(h) Connect the top end of the drain tube (FB01) to the ecology tank finger-tight.
(i) Torque the drain tube (FB01) B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )

(j) Install the necessary fan exit liner segment (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-08-400-801).
(10) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR21) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR21) from the HPC SVA primary unit.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR21) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the HPC SVA primary location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR21).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the drain tube (DR21) to the HPC SVA primary unit finger-tight.
(h) TORQUE the drain tube (DR21) B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
.

(11) Do a flow check of the pylon zone drain hose as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the pylon zone drain hose from the pylon.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the pylon zone drain hose to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the pylon structure location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the pylon zone drain hose.
1 If there is no airflow, examine the pylon zone drain hose, the drain tube (DR131) and all the other related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the pylon zone drain hose to the pylon finger-tight.
(h) TORQUE the pylon zone drain hose B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 420 and 340 lbf.in (4.75 and 3.84 m.daN )

5. Close-upCAUTION:
WIPE CLEAN ALL PARTS AND TOOLS AS NECESSARY TO REMOVE UNWANTED DEBRIS AND PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.
CAUTION:
USE A SECOND WRENCH TO HOLD THE MATING PARTS WHEN YOU LOOSEN OR TIGHTEN THE TUBE OR HOSE NUTS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS CAUTION, YOU CAN TWIST OR CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES OR HOSES.
(1) Do a flow check of the main gearbox drain tube as follows: (a) Disconnect the top end of the main gearbox drain tube from the main gearbox adapter.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the main gearbox drain tube to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the Integrated Drive Generator (IDG) location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the main gearbox drain tube.
1 If there is no airflow, examine the main gearbox drain tube to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the main gearbox drain tube to the main gearbox adapter finger-tight.
(h) TORQUE the main gearbox drain tube B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 255 and 225 lbf.in (2.88 and 2.54 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nut.
2 TORQUE the B-nut again to between 255 and 225 lbf.in (2.88 and 2.54 m.daN )
. (2) Do a flow check of the drain tubes (DR22) and (DR23) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the drain tube (DR23) from the top end of the drain tube (DR22) and the High Pressure Compressor (HPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA) secondary unit.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR22) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the HPC SVA secondary unit location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR22).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR23) to collect all unwanted material.
(h) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the bottom end of the drain tube (DR23).
(i) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR23).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the drain tube (DR23) to find and correct the cause.
(j) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(k) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(l) Connect the drain tube (DR23) B-nuts to the top end of the drain tube (DR22) and the HPC SVA secondary unit finger-tight.
(m) Torque the drain tube (DR23) B-nuts as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
2 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. (3) Do a flow check of the scupper drain tube as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the scupper drain tube from the oil tank cap.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the scupper drain tube to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the bottom end of the scupper drain tube.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the scupper drain tube.
1 If there is no airflow, examine the scupper drain tube to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005)
(g) Connect the top end of the scupper drain tube to the oil tank cap finger-tight.
(h) TORQUE the scupper drain tube B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 315 and 300 lbf.in (3.56 and 3.39 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
2 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 315 and 300 lbf.in (3.56 and 3.39 m.daN )
. (4) Do a flow check of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top ends of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose from the pylon.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top ends of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the pylon fuel location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top ends of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose.
1 If there is no airflow, examine the pylon fuel drain hose, the wing fuel drain hose, the drain manifold (DR121), and all other related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top ends of the pylon fuel drain hose and the wing fuel drain hose to the pylon finger-tight.
(h) Torque the pylon fuel drain hose B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 210 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.37 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nuts.
2 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 250 and 210 lbf.in (2.83 and 2.37 m.daN )
. (i) Torque the wing fuel drain hose B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 420 and 340 lbf.in (4.75 and 3.84 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nut.
2 TORQUE the B-nuts to between 420 and 340 lbf.in (4.75 and 3.84 m.daN )
. (5) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR01) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR01) from the Low Pressure Compressor (LPC) Stator Vane Actuator (SVA).
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR01) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the LPC SVA location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR01).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the drain tube (DR01) to the LPC SVA finger-tight.
(h) Torque the drain tube (DR01) B-nuts as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nut.
2 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. (6) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR11) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR11) from the LPC 2.5 bleed valve actuator.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR11) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the 2.5 bleed valve actuator location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR11).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the drain tube (DR11) to the LPC 2.5 bleed actuator finger-tight.
(h) Torque the drain tube (DR11) B-nuts as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nut.
2 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. (7) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR41) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR41) from the fuel manifold.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR41) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the integrated fuel pump and control location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR41).
- If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the drain tube (DR41) to the fuel manifold finger-tight
(h) Torque the drain tube (DR41) B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nut.
2 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. (8) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR51) as follows:
(a) Remove the bolt (2) and disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR51) from the main gearbox.
(b) Remove and discard the packing - preformed (1) from the drain tube (DR51).
(c) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR51) to collect all unwanted material.
(d) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the Engine Driven Pump (EDP) location on the drain mast.
(e) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR51).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(f) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(g) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(h) Apply Antigalling Compound (Material No.P06-054) to the threads of the bolt (2).
NOTE: For new or refurbished bolts or nuts with baked-on lubricant, do not do the wet application.
(i) Install a new EIPC 71-71-49-04-060 PACKING - PREFORMED (1) on the drain tube (DR51). (j) Install the drain tube (DR51) on the main gearbox with the bolt (2) finger-tight.
(k) TORQUE the bolt (2) to between 100 and 90 lbf.in (1.13 and 1.02 m.daN )
. (9) Do a flow check of the drain tube (FB01) as follows:
(a) Remove the necessary fan exit liner segment to get access to the drain tube (FB01) (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-08-000-801).
(b) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (FB01) from the ecology tank.
(c) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (FB01) to collect all unwanted material.
(d) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the ecology tank location on the drain mast.
(e) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (FB01).
1 If there is no airflow, examine the drain tube (FB01), the drain tube (FB02), and all the other related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(f) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(g) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(h) Connect the top end of the drain tube (FB01) to the ecology tank finger-tight.
(i) Torque the drain tube (FB01) B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nut.
2 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. (j) Install the necessary fan exit liner segment (Ref. AMM TASK 72-21-08-400-801).
(10) Do a flow check of the drain tube (DR21) as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the drain tube (DR21) from the HPC SVA primary unit.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the drain tube (DR21) to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the HPC SVA primary location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the drain tube (DR21).
1 If there is no airflow, examine all the related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the drain tube (DR21) to the HPC SVA primary unit finger-tight.
(h) TORQUE the drain tube (DR21) B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nut.
2 TORQUE the B-nut to between 75 and 65 lbf.in (0.85 and 0.73 m.daN )
. (11) Do a flow check of the pylon zone drain hose as follows:
(a) Disconnect the top end of the pylon zone drain hose from the pylon.
(b) Put a lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) or equivalent on the top end of the pylon zone drain hose to collect all unwanted material.
(c) Apply an AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the pylon structure location on the drain mast.
(d) Make sure that there is an airflow out of the top end of the pylon zone drain hose.
1 If there is no airflow, examine the pylon zone drain hose, the drain tube (DR131) and all the other related drain tubes to find and correct the cause.
(e) Remove the AIR SOURCE 2 BAR (30 PSI) - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY.
(f) Remove the lint-free cotton cloth (Material No.P05-005) .
(g) Connect the top end of the pylon zone drain hose to the pylon finger-tight.
(h) TORQUE the pylon zone drain hose B-nut as follows:
1 TORQUE the B-nut to between 420 and 340 lbf.in (4.75 and 3.84 m.daN )
. NOTE: Do not loosen the B-nut.
2 TORQUE the B-nut to between 420 and 340 lbf.in (4.75 and 3.84 m.daN )
