Subtask 71-60-41-960-050-A
(a) Use a EXTRATOR - PIN DIA 3 MM (0.1 IN) and drill out the plastic rivets (2) that attach the ertacetal strip (1) to the air inlet cowl.
(b) Remove and keep the damaged ertacetal strip (1) or the high speed tape.
(c) Use the damaged ertacetal strip (1) or the high speed tape as a drilling template.
(2) Installation of a new ertacetal strip (1):
(a) Clean the contact area of the air-inlet cowl frame with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(b) Dry the contact area of the air inlet cowl with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) before the solvent becomes gas.
(c) Use a locally marked or the damaged ertacetal strip as a template and record the positions of the rivet holes on the new segment of the ertacetal strip (1).
(d) Drill rivet holes of diameter between 4.88 mm (0.19 in.) and 4.98 mm (0.20 in.) through the new segment of the ertacetal strip (1).
(e) Deburr the rivet holes.
(f) Install the new ertacetal strip (1) on the air inlet cowl and tap the strip with a MALLET - PLASTIC.
(g) Install the clamps on each end of the ertacetal strip (1).
(h) Install the plastic rivets (2) that attach the ertacetal strip (1) to the air inlet cowl.
(i) Remove the clamps from the ends of the ertacetal strip (1).

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-60-41-010-051-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

CAUTION:
BE CAREFUL NOT TO CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ADJACENT STRUCTURES WHEN YOU DO THESE OPERATIONS.
CAUTION:
REPLACE THE HIGH SPEED TAPE WITH THE TEFLON STRIP WITHIN 750 FLIGHT HOURS. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
A. Replacement of Air-Inlet Cowl Ertacetal-Strip NOTE: This procedure is given for one ertacetal strip. It is also applicable to the other ertacetal strips of the air inlet cowl.
NOTE: There are eight ertacetal strips on the air inlet cowl.
(1) Removal of the damaged ertacetal strip (1): (a) Use a EXTRATOR - PIN DIA 3 MM (0.1 IN) and drill out the plastic rivets (2) that attach the ertacetal strip (1) to the air inlet cowl.
(b) Remove and keep the damaged ertacetal strip (1) or the high speed tape.
(c) Use the damaged ertacetal strip (1) or the high speed tape as a drilling template.
(2) Installation of a new ertacetal strip (1):
(a) Clean the contact area of the air-inlet cowl frame with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) .
(b) Dry the contact area of the air inlet cowl with Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) before the solvent becomes gas.
(c) Use a locally marked or the damaged ertacetal strip as a template and record the positions of the rivet holes on the new segment of the ertacetal strip (1).
(d) Drill rivet holes of diameter between 4.88 mm (0.19 in.) and 4.98 mm (0.20 in.) through the new segment of the ertacetal strip (1).
(e) Deburr the rivet holes.
(f) Install the new ertacetal strip (1) on the air inlet cowl and tap the strip with a MALLET - PLASTIC.

(i) Remove the clamps from the ends of the ertacetal strip (1).

Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(1) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
