WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-60-41-941-051-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Put a MAT - PROTECTIVE FOAM in position.
   (4) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-60-41-110-050-A
A. Cleaning
   (1) Clean the contact area with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) made moist with:
     (a) Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) for aerofiller between lips and outer barrels and between outer barrels.
     (b) Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) for aerofiller between lips and between lips and acoustic panel.
     (c) Do not let the Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9) and Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1) dry on the air intake surface. Clean it with a Textile-Lint free Cotton - (Material No.14SBA1) .
     (d) Make sure that the remaining sealant is removed,
       1 Use a SPATULA - NON METALLIC to remove remaining sealant if any.

B. Preparation
   (1) Install Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) to prevent damage around the contact and clean the contact area with Abrasive-- Scotch Brite Pads - (Material No.14FAB1) to make sure that the sealant is satisfactory.

C. Installation of Seal on Lip/Outer Barrel Filler(x1), Outer Barrel/Outer Barrel Filler (x3), Outer Barrel/Scoop Filler (x1) and Outer Barrel/FADEC Filler (x1)
NOTE: Replace only the damaged parts of the seal.
   (1) Prepare the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Non corrosive High Strength One part paste - (Material No.06CGD1) .
   (2) Apply the Silicone Adhesive Sealant-Non corrosive High Strength One part paste - (Material No.06CGD1) on the aerofiller.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.
   (1) Remove the MAT - PROTECTIVE FOAM.
   (2) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
