Subtask 71-60-41-620-050-A
A. Preservation of the air intake cowl lip and anti-ice access panels for a period less than 15 days if the aluminum parts are new (0 flight hour) or if the aluminum parts are already protected.
   (1) Put plastic caps on the electrical connectors to protect them.
   (2) Apply Material No. Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) to the painted areas adjacent to the lips and the anti-ice access panels.
   (3) Apply Material No. Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) with a pneumatic gun. You must make a smooth film without droplets or runs.
NOTE: The lip and anti-ice access panels must be clean and dry. There must be no chips, oil, grease or any unwanted material before you apply Material No. Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1)
   (4) Let the Material No. Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) dry at ambient temperature for the time given by the material manufacturer.
NOTE: The waterproofing material stays oily for several months.
   (5) Do the same operations again until the lip and the anti-ice panels are fully protected.
   (6) In case the holes of the aluminum parts are not protected, use Material No. Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing Ultra-thin Film - (Material No.12ABD1)

B. Preservation for a period more than 15 days of the air intake cowl lip and anti-ice access panels if the aluminum parts are not new or if the aluminum parts are not protected.
   (1) Clean and degrease the lip and the anti-ice panels. Apply hot water with soap, with a light pressure source of 2.75 bar (39.8854 psi) to 3.5 bar (50.7632 psi):
     (a) For the anti-ice panels, use Material No. Non Aqueous Cleaner-General - - (Material No.08BAA9)
     (b) For the lips, use Material No. Non Aqueous Cleaner-- Isopropyl Alcohol - (Material No.08BBD1)
   (2) Let the lip and the anti-ice panels dry at ambient temperature.
NOTE: The ambient temperature must be between 5 deg. C (41 deg. F) and 35 deg. C (95 deg. F).
   (3) Apply Material No. Surface Pretreatment-Light Alloys Chemical Conversion Clear - (Material No.10ABD1) for the protective finish of the lips and anti-ice panel holes.
   (4) Rinse the area with clean water.
   (5) Dry the area with hot air (maximum 60 deg. C (140 deg. F)) at a low pressure.
   (6) Put plastic caps on the electrical connectors to protect them.
   (7) Apply Material No. Adhesive Film Tape-Masking - - (Material No.05RDA1) to the painted areas adjacent to the lips and the anti-ice access panels.
   (8) Apply Material No.
Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) .
   (9) Let the Material No. Corrosion Preventive Compound-Water Displacing & Heavy Duty Hard Film - (Material No.12ADB1) dry at ambient temperature for the time given by the material manufacturer.
NOTE: The waterproofing material stays oily for several months.
   (10) Do the same operations again until the lip and the anti-ice panels are fully protected.
