3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-51-43-941-091-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position under the right fan cowl door.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-420-087-A
A. Installation of the Electrical Harness for the Channel A Electronic Engine Control (EEC)
   (1) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from all open connectors and receptacles.
   (2) Make sure that the mating surfaces are clean and clear of unwanted materials.
   (3) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (7), (8), (10), (15), (16) and (21) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
   (4) Install the electrical harness (2) in the correct position in the three clips (1) along its routing.
     (a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
CAUTION: YOU MUST NOT USE PLIERS WITH METAL JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE CONNECTOR. THE METAL JAWS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE CONNECTOR.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
   (5) Connection of the electrical harness (2) connectors to the receptacles (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804):
NOTE: If necessary, use PLIERS - JAWED, SOFT to connect the electrical connectors.
     (a) Connect the electrical connector (22) to the pylon receptacle (11)(at the pylon junction box).
     (b) Connect the electrical connector (3) to the EEC channel A (23).
     (c) Tighten the electrical connectors (3) and (22) until you cannot see the color marks on the receptacles.
     (d) Make sure that the electrical connectors do not move after you fully engage them.
   (6) Connect the electrical connector (6) in the correct position on the bracket (9).
     (a) Install the two bolts (7) to attach the electrical connector (6) on the bracket (9) and tighten them with your hand.
     (b) TORQUE the two bolts (7) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in ) T.
   (7) Connect the electrical connector (4) in the correct position on the bracket (9).
     (a) Install the two bolts (10) to attach the electrical connector (4) on the bracket (9) and tighten them with your hand.
     (b) TORQUE the two bolts (10) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
T.
   (8) Connect the electrical connector (5) in the correct position on the bracket (9).
     (a) Install the two bolts (8) to attach the electrical connector (5) on the bracket (9) and tighten them with your hand.
     (b) TORQUE the two bolts (8) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
T.
   (9) Put the P-clamp (17) in position on the electrical harness (2).
   (10) Install the bolt (16) that attaches the P-clamp (17) to the support bracket (18).
   (11) TORQUE the bolt (16) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
T.
   (12) Put the P-clamps (14) and (13) in position on the electrical harness (2).
   (13) Install the two bolts (15) that attach the P-clamps (14) and (13) to the support bracket (12).
   (14) TORQUE the two bolts (15) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
T.
   (15) Put the P-clamp (20) in position on the electrical harness (2).
   (16) Install the bolt (21) that attaches the P-clamp (20) to the support bracket (19).
   (17) TORQUE the bolt (21) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
T.
   (18) Adjust the tension in the electrical harness (2) along the routing.
   (19) Make sure the harness does not touch adjacent parts.
NOTE: In case of looseness at electrical harness to clip interfaces, you can use CPNCL00957GLASS FIBER TAPE (3M tape 361) to assure the retention of the electrical harness into the clip as follows:

A. Close Access
   (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
   (2) Remove the access platform(s).
   (3) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

B. Test(s)
   (1) Do the FADEC test (menu mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-710-802).
   (2) Do the thrust reverser cycling test (menu mode) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-29-00-740-804).
