BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-51-43-010-103-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position under the left fan cowl door.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position under the left fan cowl door.
Subtask 71-51-43-420-083-A
A. Installation of the Right and the Left Electrical Harnesses from the Pylon to the Fan Fire Detector Elements
(1) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
(2) Lubricate the threads of the bolts that follow with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) :
(a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
(4) Put the P-clamp (42) and the two P-clamps (48) in position on the left (17) harness.
(a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
(5) Put the left harness (17) in position on the engine.
(a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct routing.
(6) Push the upper end of the left harness (17) through the opening at the top of the engine, and through to the right side.
(7) Push the left harness into the spring clips on the top three support brackets (28), (34) and (33).
(8) Move the scissor lift to the right side of the engine.
(9) Put the right harness (10) in position on the engine.
(a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct routing.
(10) At the pylon junction box (40), connect the electrical connectors that follow (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804):
(a) Install the bolt (41) to attach the P-clamp (42) to the support bracket (43).
(b) Push the left harness (17) into the spring clip on the support bracket (35).
(c) Push the upper end of the left harness (17) through the opening at the top of the engine.
(12) On the right harness (10), install the bolt (38) to attach the P-clamp (36) to the support bracket (37).
(13) TORQUE the bolt (41) and the bolt (38) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(14) Connect the right harness (10) to the right 6 o'clock responder (45) as follow:
(a) Put the two ring connectors on the right harness (10) on the studs of the responder (45).
(c) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the ground ring connector to the support bracket (18).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (46) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )

(e) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the P-clamp (48) on the right harness (10) the support bracket (18).
(15) On the left side of the engine, connect the right harness (10) to the lower left side responder (45) as follow:
(a) Put the two ring connectors on the right harness (10) on the studs of the responder (45).
(c) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the ground ring connector to the support bracket (15).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (46) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )

(e) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the P-clamp (48) on the right harness (10) to the support bracket (15).
(f) Push the right harness (10) into the spring clip on the support bracket (15).
(16) On the right side of the engine, complete the installation of the right harness (10) routing as follow:
(a) Push the right harness (10) into the spring clips on support brackets (2), (3), (11), (9), (4), (5), (8), (6), (7), (12), (13), (18) and (14).
(b) Adjust the tension in the right harness (10) along the routing.
(c) TORQUE the two bolts (47) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

1 Make sure the harness does not touch adjacent parts.
(17) On the left side of the engine, connect the left harness (17) to the upper left side responder (45) as follow:
(a) Put the two ring connectors on the left harness (17) on the studs of the responder (45).
(c) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the ground ring connector to the support bracket (18).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (46) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )

(e) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the P-clamp (48) on the left harness (17) to the support bracket (18).
(18) Connect the left harness (17) to the left 6 o'clock responder (45) as follow:
(a) Put the two ring connectors on the left harness (17) on the studs of the responder (45).
(c) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the ground ring connector to the support bracket (16).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (46) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )

(e) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the P-clamp (48) on the left harness (17) to the support bracket (16).
(19) Complete the installation of the left harness (17) routing as follow:
(a) Push the left harness (17) into the spring clips on the support brackets (32), (29), (30), (31), (19), (20), (21), (22), (24), (27), (26), (25), (16) and (15).
(b) Adjust the tension in the left harness (17) along the routing.
(c) TORQUE the two bolts (47) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

1 Make sure the harness does not touch adjacent parts.
(20) At each of the four responders, complete the installation of the right (10) and left (17) harnesses as follow:
(a) Push the two end of the harness into the small spring clips installed on each responder (45).
(b) TORQUE the larger nuts (49) on each responder stud to between 0.62 and 0.56 m.daN (54.87 and 49.56 lbf.in )

(c) TORQUE the smaller nuts (44) on each responder stud to between 0.51 and 0.45 m.daN (45.13 and 39.82 lbf.in )
.
Subtask 71-51-43-710-078-A 5. Close-up(1) Remove all COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION from openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.

(a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
(4) Put the P-clamp (42) and the two P-clamps (48) in position on the left (17) harness.
(a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct location and position.
(5) Put the left harness (17) in position on the engine.
(a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct routing.
(6) Push the upper end of the left harness (17) through the opening at the top of the engine, and through to the right side.
(7) Push the left harness into the spring clips on the top three support brackets (28), (34) and (33).
(8) Move the scissor lift to the right side of the engine.
(9) Put the right harness (10) in position on the engine.
(a) Use the record made during the removal procedure to help get the correct routing.
(10) At the pylon junction box (40), connect the electrical connectors that follow (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804):
- Connect the electrical connector (39) on the right harness (10) to the receptacle on the pylon junction box.
- Connect the electrical connector (39) on the left harness (17) to the receptacle on the pylon junction box.
(a) Install the bolt (41) to attach the P-clamp (42) to the support bracket (43).
(b) Push the left harness (17) into the spring clip on the support bracket (35).
(c) Push the upper end of the left harness (17) through the opening at the top of the engine.
(12) On the right harness (10), install the bolt (38) to attach the P-clamp (36) to the support bracket (37).
(13) TORQUE the bolt (41) and the bolt (38) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )
. (14) Connect the right harness (10) to the right 6 o'clock responder (45) as follow:
(a) Put the two ring connectors on the right harness (10) on the studs of the responder (45).
NOTE: The larger ring goes on the larger stud and the smaller ring goes on the smaller stud. The different sizes are necessary to be sure the electrical polarity is correct.
(b) Install the nuts (44) and (49) on the studs of the responder (45). (c) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the ground ring connector to the support bracket (18).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (46) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )
. (e) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the P-clamp (48) on the right harness (10) the support bracket (18).
(15) On the left side of the engine, connect the right harness (10) to the lower left side responder (45) as follow:
(a) Put the two ring connectors on the right harness (10) on the studs of the responder (45).
NOTE: The larger ring goes on the larger stud and the smaller ring goes on the smaller stud. The different sizes are necessary to be sure the electrical polarity is correct.
(b) Install the nuts (44) and (49) on the studs of the responder (45). (c) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the ground ring connector to the support bracket (15).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (46) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )
. (e) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the P-clamp (48) on the right harness (10) to the support bracket (15).
(f) Push the right harness (10) into the spring clip on the support bracket (15).
(16) On the right side of the engine, complete the installation of the right harness (10) routing as follow:
(a) Push the right harness (10) into the spring clips on support brackets (2), (3), (11), (9), (4), (5), (8), (6), (7), (12), (13), (18) and (14).
(b) Adjust the tension in the right harness (10) along the routing.
(c) TORQUE the two bolts (47) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(17) On the left side of the engine, connect the left harness (17) to the upper left side responder (45) as follow:
(a) Put the two ring connectors on the left harness (17) on the studs of the responder (45).

(b) Install the nuts (44) and (49) on the studs of the responder (45). (c) Install the bolt (46) that attaches the ground ring connector to the support bracket (16).
(d) TORQUE the bolt (46) to between 0.76 and 0.64 m.daN (67.26 and 56.64 lbf.in )
. (e) Install the bolt (47) that attaches the P-clamp (48) on the left harness (17) to the support bracket (16).
(19) Complete the installation of the left harness (17) routing as follow:
(a) Push the left harness (17) into the spring clips on the support brackets (32), (29), (30), (31), (19), (20), (21), (22), (24), (27), (26), (25), (16) and (15).
(b) Adjust the tension in the left harness (17) along the routing.
(c) TORQUE the two bolts (47) to between 0.43 and 0.36 m.daN (38.05 and 31.86 lbf.in )

(20) At each of the four responders, complete the installation of the right (10) and left (17) harnesses as follow:
(a) Push the two end of the harness into the small spring clips installed on each responder (45).
(b) TORQUE the larger nuts (49) on each responder stud to between 0.62 and 0.56 m.daN (54.87 and 49.56 lbf.in )

A. Close Access
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
