3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-51-43-941-081-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).
4. Procedure
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE ELECTRICAL HARNESS AND THE FORWARD FRAME PARTS OR DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
Subtask 71-51-43-420-082-A
A. Installation of the HTRAS/CLP Harnesses - ICU Channel A And Channel B
   (1) Install the Channel A harness (3) as follows:
     (a) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (8), (11), (12), (24), (26), (27) and (30) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Install the P-clamps (7), (10), (13), (23), (25), (28) and (29) on the harness (3).
     (d) Use the record made during the removal procedure to set the clamps in the correct location and position.
     (e) Put the harness (3) (with the P-clamps attached) in position on the engine.
     (f) Connect the electrical connector (41) to the pylon junction box (42) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (g) Connect the electrical connector (17) to the ICU (16) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (h) Connect the electrical connector (1) to the fan cowl interface (2) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (i) Install the bolt (8) that attaches the P-clamp (7) to the support bracket (6).
     (j) Install the bolt (11) that attaches the P-clamp (10) to the support bracket (5).
     (k) Install the bolt (12) that attaches the P-clamp (13) to the support bracket (4).
     (l) Install the bolt (24) that attaches the P-clamp (23) to the support bracket (22).
     (m) Install the bolts (26) and (30) that attaches the P-clamps (25) and (29) to the support bracket (19).
     (n) Install the bolt (27) that attaches the P-clamp (28) to the support bracket (31).
     (o) Adjust the tension in the harness (3) along the length of the harness routing on the engine. Make sure that the harness does not touch adjacent components.
     (p) TORQUE the bolts (8), (11), (12), (24), (26), (27) and (30) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
   (2) Install the channel B harness (18) as follows:
     (a) Remove all the COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on the openings, tubes, hoses and connectors.
     (b) Lubricate the threads of the bolts (21) and (35) with LUBRICATING OIL TURBINE ENGINE SYNT BASE (Material No.
CPNCL00062) .
     (c) Install the P-clamps (20) and (34) on the harness (18).
     (d) Use the record made during the removal procedure to set the clamps in the correct location and position.
     (e) Put the harness (18) (with the P-clamps attached) in position on the engine.
     (f) Connect the electrical connector (38) to the pylon junction box (42) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (g) Connect the electrical connector (15) to the Isolation Control Unit (ICU) (16) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (h) Install the bolt (21) that attaches the P-clamp (20) to the support bracket (22).
     (i) Install the bolt (35) that attaches the P-clamp (34) to the support bracket (32).
     (j) Adjust the tension in the harness (18) along the length of the harness routing on the engine. Make sure that the harness does not touch adjacent components.
     (k) TORQUE the bolts (21) and (35) to between 38 and 32 lbf.in (0.43 and 0.36 m.daN ) T.
