3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-51-43-941-073-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

C. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-420-078-A
A. Installation of the Latches Monitoring Harness
   (1) Carefully put the latches monitoring harness (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
   (2) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connectors on the latches monitoring harness (1) and from the upper connector.
   (3) Install the latches monitoring harness (1) with the screws (4), washers (2) and new AIPC 71-13-10-22-030 NUT (3) on the upper electrical support.
   (4) Apply SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.
CPNCL01420) and CPNCL00700ELECTRICAL BONDING COATING (BLUE COLOR) on the electrical bonding (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
   (5) Connect the upper connector with the latches monitoring harness (1).
   (6) Install the latches monitoring harness (1) with the screws (5) and (10), washers (6) and (9) and clamps (7), (8) and (11) on the fan cowl door electrical supports.
   (7) Remove the CAP - BLANKING from the electrical connectors on the latches monitoring harness (1) and from the proximity sensors.
   (8) Connect the latches monitoring harness connectors (1) to the proximity sensors:
     (a) Carefully connect the latches monitoring harness connectors (1) to the proximity sensors.
     (b) Turn the connector nut clockwise until get connection.
NOTE: The connector must not hide the red mark on the proximity sensor.
     (c) Tighten the latches monitoring harness connectors by hand:
       1 Turn clockwise each connector until the red mark of the proximity sensor is hidden.
       2 When the red marking is hidden, turn each connector by hand until you hear two "clicks".
5. Close-up

   (3) Remove the access platform(s).
   (4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).

C. Do the operational test of the Engine Interface Unit (EIU) with the Centralized Fault Display System (CFDS) (Ref. AMM TASK 73-25-34-710-805).
