A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-420-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Installation of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) (Channel B) Harness
NOTE: For the recommended procedure for the installation of the wire harness (Ref. AMM TASK 70-60-00-910-041).
NOTE: To tighten the flip-lock clamps and line blocks, turn the captive screws or captive bolts 1/4 turn clockwise to engage the cam nuts.
   (1) Remove the COVER - PROTECTION protective covers from the electrical connectors.
   (2) Put the electrical harness (5) in position on the engine.
   (3) Connect electrical connectors 403VC-A and 407VC-A to the pylon junction box.
   (4) Connect electrical connector 4003VC-A to the junction box.
   (5) Put the harness (5) into the flip-lock clamps (10) and (15).
   (6) Put the harness (5) into the rubber supports of the line blocks.

   (7) If removed, put the rubber supports in the line blocks (20) and (25) attached to the brackets at station 167.
   (8) If removed, put the rubber supports in the line block (30) attached to the bracket at station 174.
   (9) If removed, put the rubber supports in the line block (35) attached to the brackets at stations 176, 185 and 191.
   (10) Make sure that the harness (5) is correctly installed on the engine.
   (11) Close the line blocks (20), (25), (30) and (35) and tighten the captive bolts.
   (12) Tighten the captive screws on the flip-lock clamps (10) and (15).
   (13) Put the clamps (50) on the harness (5). Attach the clamps to the brackets at station 199 with the bolts (40) and the nuts (45).
   (14) TORQUE the nuts (45) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN ) T.
   (15) Put the harness (5) into the rubber supports of the line blocks (25) and (65).
   (16) If removed, put the rubber supports in the line blocks (25) and (65) attached to the brackets at station 167.
   (17) Make sure that the harness (5) is correctly installed on the engine.
   (18) Close the line blocks (25) and (65) and tighten the captive bolts.

CONFIG-1

   (19) Put the harness (5) into the flip-lock clamp (55) near the ignition exciters and tighten the captive bolt.

   (20) Put the harness (5) into the flip-lock clamp (60) near the ignition exciters and tighten the captive bolt.

   (21) Connect electrical connector 4000JH2-A to ignition exciter B.
   (22) Connect electrical connectors 4000KS-J2 and 4000KS-J4 to the ECU.
NOTE: The wire harnesses for connectors 4000KS-J4 and 4000KS-J6 may touch as shown on

   (23) Put the harness (5) into the two flip-lock clamps (60) that are attached to the brackets at station 191.
   (24) Put the harness (5) into the flip-lock clamp (80) that is attached to the bracket at station 191.
   (25) Put the harness (5) into the two flip-lock clamps (55) that are attached to the brackets at station 191.

   (26) Make sure that the harness (5) is correctly installed on the engine.
   (27) Install the clamps and bolts (22) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 167.
   (28) Install the clamps, bolt and anti-rotation lug (23) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 167.
   (29) Install the clamps, bolt and anti-rotation lug (27) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 167.
   (30) Install the clamps and bolt (32) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 174.
   (31) Install the clamps, bolts and anti-rotation lugs (37) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 176, 185 and 191.
   (32) Tighten the captive screws on the flip-lock clamps (10) and (15).
   (33) Put the clamps (50) on the harness (5). Attach the clamps to the brackets at station 199 with the bolts (40) and the nuts (45).
   (34) TORQUE the nuts (45) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN ) T.
   (35) Put the harness (5) into the rubber supports of the line block (25).
   (36) Install the clamps and bolt (28) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket.
   (37) Install the clamps and bolt (67) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket.
   (38) Install the clamps, bolt and anti-rotation lug (68) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket.
   (39) Install the clamp, bolt and anti-rotation lug (57) near ignition exciter B.
   (40) Connect electrical connector 4000JH2-A to ignition exciter B.
   (41) Connect electrical connectors 4000KS-J2 and 4000KS-J4 to the ECU.
NOTE: The wire harness for connectors 4000KS-J4 and 4000KS-J6 may touch as shown on

   (42) Install the clamps and bolts (62) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 191.
   (43) Install the clamp and bolt (82) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket at station 191.
   (44) Put the harness (5) into the flip-lock clamp (55) attached to the bracket at station 191.
   (45) Install the clamp and bolt (57) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 191.
   (46) TORQUE the bolts (22), (23), (27), (28), (32), (37), (57), (62), (67), (68) and (82) to between 30 and 25 lbf.in (0.34 and 0.28 m.daN ) T.

   (47) Connect electrical connector 4000EV-C to the fan speed sensor (N1).

PRE SB RA32171-6

   (48) Put the harness (5) into the flip-lock clamp (55) that is attached to the bracket at station 185.

POST SB RA32171-6

   (49) Put the clamp (50) on the harness (5). Use the bolt (40) to attach the clamp (50) to the bracket at station 185.
   (50) TORQUE the bolt (40) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN )

   (50) Put the two clamps (50) on the harness (5). Attach the clamps (50) to the starter bracket with the bolts (70) and nuts (75).
   (51) Put the clamp (50) on the harness (5). Use the bolt (40) and nut (45) to attach the clamp to the gearbox bracket.
   (52) Put the clamp (50) on the harness (5). Use the bolt (85) and nut (90) to attach the clamp (50) and the fire detector clamp to the gearbox bracket.
(Detail C)
   (53) TORQUE the nuts (45), (80) and (90) to between 25 and 20 lbf.in (0.28 and 0.23 m.daN ) T.
   (54) Connect electrical connector 4001EV-C to the gas generator speed sensor (N2).
   (55) Tighten the captive screws on the flip-lock clamps.
   (56) Examine the harness installation and make sure that all the flip-lock clamps, line blocks and clamps are installed correctly.

   (57) Apply the tape.
CAUTION: YOU MUST WIND THE TWO HARNESSES WITH TAPE (CP 2739) IF THEY TOUCH. IF YOU DO NOT WIND THE HARNESSES WITH TAPE IT CAN DAMAGE THE HARNESSES.
     (a) Wind the tape (Material No.
CP2739) on the two harnesses in the areas shown.
       1 Wind the tape so that each wind overlaps the last wind by half the width of the tape.

  • Make sure that there is no CAT 3 DUAL INOP message on the lower ECAM DU of the maintenance panel 50VU with FADEC GND PWR 1 & 2 pushbutton switches pushed (ON legends on) and 3 IR'S aligned (Ref. AMM TASK 34-10-00-860-004)
  • Do the operational test of the LAND CAT III Capability (Ref. AMM TASK 22-97-00-710-001).
