A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put the WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803).
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-020-095-A
A. Removal of the HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness (1)
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS ARE CLEAN BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT OR CONNECT THEM. CONTAMINATION ON THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: USE PLIERS THAT HAVE TEFLON JAWS TO TIGHTEN OR LOOSEN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS. DO NOT USE PLIERS THAT HAVE METAL JAWS. METAL JAWS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS.
   (1) Disconnect the HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness connector (1) from the Engine Electronic Calculator (EEC) Chanel B (2).
   (2) Remove the bolt (3) from the clamp (5) and the self-locking nut (10) that attach HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness (1) on the bracket (4).
   (3) Remove the clamp (5) from the HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness (1).
   (4) Remove the HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness (1) from the clip (6).
   (5) Remove the security cap (7) from the HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness connector (1).
   (6) Remove the two bolts (8) that attach the HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness connector socket (1) on the bracket assy (9).
   (7) Remove the HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness (1).
   (8) Install the security cap (7) on the HJ9B Engine Wiring Harness connector (1).
   (9) Install the COVER - PROTECTION and the CAP - PROTECTION on all the open ports and disconnected connectors.
