3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-51-43-941-095-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

   (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position forward of the right upper actuator.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Do the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for nacelle maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807).
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-020-094-A
A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser Harnesses - Right Upper Actuator Channel A and Channel B Harnesses
   (1) Open the right thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806).
   (2) Remove the bolt (30) to open the block clamp (29) on the support bracket (28).
   (3) Remove the channel A harness (7) and the channel B harness (4) from the block clamp (29).
   (4) Close the right thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-806).
   (5) Remove the channel A harness (7) as follows:
     (a) Disconnect the electrical connector (8) from the proximity sensor (10) on the upper right actuator (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (b) Disconnect the electrical connector (6) from the Linear Variable Differential Transducer (LVDT) (5) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (c) Disconnect the electrical connector (17) from the receptacle on the interface bracket (15) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (d) Remove the bolt (24) that attaches the p-clamp (25) to the support bracket (21).
     (e) Remove the harness (7) from the spring clip on the support bracket (2) and remove the harness from the thrust reverser.
   (6) Remove the channel B harness (4) from the thrust reverser as follows:
     (a) Disconnect the electrical connector (3) from the proximity sensor (1) on the right upper actuator (11) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (b) Disconnect the electrical connector (16) from the receptacle on the interface bracket (15) (Ref. AMM TASK 70-70-00-910-804).
     (c) Remove the bolt (23) that attaches the p-clamp (22) to the support bracket (21).
     (d) Remove the channel B harness (4) from the spring clip (26) on support bracket (2).
     (e) Remove the harness (4) from the thrust reverser.
   (7) Install COVER - PROTECTION and CAP - PROTECTION on all open ports, open tubes, open hoses, and connectors.
