A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
(2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
(3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: OPEN THE PROBE HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS 1DA1(2), 3DA1(2,3), 4DA1(2,3) AND 5DA1(2,3) BEFORE ENG1(2)FADEC A and EIU 1(2) C/B'S 2KS1 AND 2KS2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE:

THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.

C. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040):
(a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

(2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-020-057-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

A. Removal of the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) (Channel B) Harness

NOTE: To open the flip-lock clamps and line blocks, turn the captive screws or captive bolts 1/4 turn counterclockwise to disengage the cam nuts.

NOTE: Loosely attach the clamp(s), anti-rotation lug(s) if applicable, and bolt(s) to the brackets from which they were removed to make it easier for installation.

(1) Disconnect electrical connectors 403VC-A and 407VC-A from the pylon junction box.

ECU Channel B Harness - Upper Right Fan Zone (POST SB RA32071-132) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL

(2) Disconnect electrical connector 4003VC-A from the junction box.
(3) Open the flip-lock clamps (10) and (15) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets. Remove the harness from the clamps.

(4) Open the line blocks (20) and (25) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 167.
(5) Open the line blocks (30) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 174.
(6) Open the line blocks (35) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at stations 176, 185, and 191.
(7) If necessary remove the rubber supports from the line blocks. Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
(8) Remove the bolts (40) and nuts (45) that attach the clamps (50) to the bracket at station 199. Remove the clamps from the harness (5).
(9) Open the line blocks (25) and (65) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets.

(10) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks. Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.

(11) Open the flip-lock clamp (55) near ignition exciter B.

(12) Open the flip-lock clamp (60) near ignition exciter B.

(13) Disconnect electrical connector 4000JH2-A from ignition exciter B.
(14) Disconnect electrical connectors 4000KS-J2 and 4000KS-J4 from the ECU.
(15) Open the two flip-lock clamps (60) attached to the brackets at station 191. Remove the harness (5) from the clamps.
(16) Open the flip-lock clamp (80) attached to the bracket at station 191. Remove the harness (5) from the clamp.
(17) Open the two flip-lock clamps (55) attached to the brackets at station 191. Remove the harness (5) from the clamps.
(18) Disconnect electrical connector 4000EV-C from the fan speed sensor (N1).

(19) Remove the clamps and bolts (22) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 167.
(20) Remove the clamps, bolt and anti-rotation lug (23) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 167.
(21) Remove the clamps, bolt and anti-rotation lug (27) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 167.
(22) Remove the clamps and bolt (32) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 174.
(23) Remove the clamps, bolts and anti-rotation lugs (37) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 176, 185 and 191.
(24) Remove the bolts (40) and nuts (45) that attach the clamps (50) to the bracket at station 199. Remove the clamps from the harness (5).
(25) Open the line block (25) that attaches the harness (5) to the bracket.

(26) Remove the clamps and bolt (28) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket.
(27) Remove the clamps and bolt (67) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket.
(28) Remove the clamps, bolt and anti-rotation lug (68) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket.
(29) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line block. Remove the harness (5) from the rubber support.
(30) Remove the clamp, bolt and anti-rotation lug (57) near ignition exciter B.
(31) Disconnect electrical connector 4000JH2-A from ignition exciter B.
(32) Disconnect electrical connectors 4000KS-J2 and 4000KS-J4 from the ECU.
(33) Remove the clamps and bolts (62) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 191. Remove the harness (5) from the clamps.
(34) Remove the clamp and bolt (82) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket at station 191. Remove the harness (5) from the clamps.
(35) Open the flip-lock clamp (55) attached to the bracket at station 191. Remove the harness (5) from the clamp.
(36) Remove the clamp and bolt (57) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 191. Remove the harness (5) from the clamp.
(37) Disconnect electrical connector 4000EV-C from the fan speed sensor (N1).

PRE SB RA32171-6

(38) Open the flip-lock clamp (55) attached to the bracket at station 185. Remove the harness (5) from the clamp.

POST SB RA32171-6

(39) Remove the bolt (40) that attaches the clamp (50) to the bracket at station 185. Remove the clamp (50) from the harness (5).

(40) Remove the bolts (70) and the nuts (75) that attach the two clamps (50) to the starter bracket.
(41) Remove the bolt (40) and nut (45) that attach the clamp (50) to the gearbox bracket.
(42) Remove the bolt (85) and nut (90) that attach the clamp (50) and the fire detector clamp to the gearbox bracket. (See Detail C).
(43) Disconnect electrical connector 4001EV-C from the gas generator speed sensor (N2).
(44) Remove the electrical harness (5) from the engine.
(45) Put the COVER - PROTECTION on the electrical connectors.
