A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: OPEN THE PROBE HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS 1DA1(2), 3DA1(2,3), 4DA1(2,3) AND 5DA1(2,3) BEFORE ENG1(2)FADEC A and EIU 1(2) C/B'S 2KS1 AND 2KS2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE:
  • THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
  • THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowls: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)
   (2) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
437AL 438AR.
   (3) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-020-054-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Thrust Reverser (Channel A and B) Harness
NOTE: Loosely attach the clamp(s), anti-rotation lug(s) if applicable, and bolt(s) to the bracket from which they were removed to make it easier for installation.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connectors 4101KS-A, 4101KS-B and 4102KS-A from the hydraulic control unit.
   (2) Remove the screw (55) and nut (60) that attach the clamps (65), (70) to the bracket on the HCU.
   (3) Remove the clamp (65) from the harness and remove the harness from the HCU.
NOTE: Loosely install the screw (55) and nut (60) on the clamp (70) and tighten with your hand.

   (4) Loosen the captive screws and open the flip-lock clamps (5), (10) and (40).
   (5) Loosen the captive bolts and open the line blocks (35) that attach the harness (30) to the engine brackets.
   (6) Remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (35).
   (7) Remove the electrical harness (30) from the rubber supports and the flip-lock clamps (5), (10) and (40).

   (8) Loosen the captive screws and open the flip-lock clamps (5).
   (9) Remove the bolts and clamps (12) and (42) from the engine brackets and from the electrical harness (30).
   (10) Remove the bolts, anti-rotation lug and clamps (37) from the engine brackets and from the electrical harness (30).
   (11) Loosen the captive bolt and open the line block (35) that attach the electrical harness (30) to the engine bracket.
   (12) Remove the rubber supports from the line block (35).
   (13) Remove the electrical harness (30) from the rubber support and flip-lock clamps (5).

   (14) Disconnect the electrical connectors 4003VC, 4004VC, 4006VC and 4007VC from the harness junction box.
   (15) Remove the bolts (25), the washers (20) and the nuts (15) that attach the harness (30) junction box to the bracket.
   (16) On the top left side of the engine, disconnect the electrical connectors 4100KS-A and 4100KS-B from the thrust reverser junction box.
   (17) Open the flip-lock clamps (5) and remove the electrical harness.
   (18) Remove the bolt (45) and the clamp (50) that attach the harness to the bracket.
   (19) Loosely attach the clamp (50) to the bracket with the bolt (45).
   (20) Remove the electrical harness from the engine.
   (21) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the electrical connectors on the harness (30), the hydraulic control unit and the thrust reverser junction box.
