A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on the ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On the overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: OPEN THE PROBE HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS 1DA1(2), 3DA1(2,3), 4DA1(2,3) AND 5DA1(2,3) BEFORE ENG1(2)FADEC A and EIU 1(2) C/B'S 2KS1 AND 2KS2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE:
  • THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
  • THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowls: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)
     (a) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)

     (b) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)

   (2) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-020-062-B ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Fire Detector (Channel B) Harness
NOTE: To open the flip-lock clamps and line blocks, turn the captive screws or captive bolts 1/4 turn counterclockwise to disengage the cam nuts.
NOTE: Loosely attach the clamp(s), anti-rotation lug(s) if applicable, and bolt(s) to the brackets from which they were removed to make it easier for installation.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector 409VC-A from the pylon junction box.

   (2) Open the line blocks (10) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 167 on the top RH side of the engine.
   (3) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (10).
   (4) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (5) Open the flip-lock clamp (15) and remove the harness (5).

   (6) Open the line blocks (10) at station 174, the line blocks (20) at station 176, and the line blocks (25) at station 185.

   (7) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks.
   (8) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (9) Open the flip-lock clamps (30) and the line block (35) at station 191.
   (10) Remove the harness (5) from the flip-lock clamps (30) and the rubber support in the line block (35).
   (11) Open the line blocks (35) at station 191 and station 199.

   (12) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (35).
   (13) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (14) Open the two line blocks (50) at station 199.

   (15) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the link blocks (50).
   (16) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (17) Open the line block (10) at station 174.

   (18) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (10).
   (19) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (20) Remove the bolt and clamps (22) that attach the harness (5) at station 176.
   (21) Remove the bolt and clamps (27) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket at station 185.
   (22) Remove the nuts, bolts and clamps (32) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 191.
   (23) Open the flip-lock clamp (30) at station 191.
   (24) Remove the bolt and clamp (37) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets at station 191.
   (25) Remove the bolt and clamps and anti-rotation lug (38) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket at station 199.

F Fire Detector Channel B Harness (POST SB RA32071-139) ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
   (26) Remove the bolt (70), the washer (75), the nut (80), and the clamp (85) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket at station 199.
   (27) Loosely install the bolt (70), the washer (75) and the nut (80) onto the bracket.
   (28) Remove the bolt (90) and the clamp (85) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket at station 191 and station 199.

   (29) Remove the bolt (40) and the clamp (45) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket at station 199.
   (30) Remove the bolts (40) and the clamps (55) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket at station 199 (two locations).
   (31) Remove the bolt (40) and the clamp (55) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket on the tube flange.
   (32) Remove the bolt (60) and the clamp (55) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket on the fuel control flange.
   (33) Remove the bolt (40), the nut (65) and the clamp (55) that attach the harness (5) to the bracket on the gearbox.
   (34) Disconnect the electrical connector 4000WD2-A from the fire detector loop B.
   (35) Remove the electrical harness (5) from the engine.
   (36) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the electrical connectors.
