A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this procedure.
   (3) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

WARNING: OPEN THE PROBE HEATER CIRCUIT-BREAKERS 1DA1(2), 3DA1(2,3), 4DA1(2,3) AND 5DA1(2,3) BEFORE ENG1(2)FADEC A and EIU 1(2) C/B'S 2KS1 AND 2KS2. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS SEQUENCE:
  • THE PROBES WILL BECOME TOO HOT.
  • THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT AND INJURY TO MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL.

C. Get Access
   (1) Open the fan cowls: (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-040)
   (2) FOR [1000EM1] (ENGINE-1)
437AL 438AR
   (3) FOR [1000EM2] (ENGINE-2)
447AL 448AR.
   (4) Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-51-43-020-061-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Removal of the Fire Detector (Channel A) Harness
NOTE: To open the flip-lock clamps and line blocks, turn the captive screws or captive bolts 1/4 turn counterclockwise to disengage the cam nuts.
NOTE: Loosely attach the clamp(s), anti-rotation lug(s) if applicable, and bolt(s) to the brackets from which they were removed to make it easier for installation.
   (1) Disconnect the electrical connector 408VC-A from the pylon junction box.
   (2) Open the line blocks (10) that attach the harness (5) to the brackets.
   (3) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (10).
   (4) Remove the electrical harness (5) from the rubber supports.

   (5) Open the line blocks (10) at station 174 and line block (15) at station 167.
   (6) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (10) and (15).
   (7) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (8) Open the line blocks (20) and (25) attached to the brackets at station 158.
   (9) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (20) and (25).
   (10) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (11) Open the line blocks (15) and (25) at station 158 and the flip-lock clamp (30) at station 167.
   (12) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (15) and (25).
   (13) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports and the flip-lock clamp (30).

AFTER SPIB NO. CFM02255MW1

   (14) Open the line block (10) at station 174.
   (15) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (10).
   (16) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (17) Remove the bolt, clamps and anti-rotation lug (17) at station 167.
   (18) Remove the bolts, clamps and anti-rotation lugs (22) attached to the brackets at station 158.
   (19) Open the line blocks (15) and (25) at station 158.
   (20) If necessary, remove the rubber supports from the line blocks (15) and (25).
   (21) Remove the harness (5) from the rubber supports.
   (22) Remove the bolt, clamps and anti-rotation lug (27) that attaches the harness (5) to the bracket at station 158.
   (23) Remove the bolt and clamp (32) that attaches the harness (5) to the bracket at station 167.

   (24) Disconnect the electrical connector 4000WD1-A from the fire detector loop A.
   (25) Remove the electrical harness (5) from the engine.
   (26) Put COVER - PROTECTION on the electrical connectors.
