3. Job Set-up
Subtask 71-22-11-941-071-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position.

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
WARNING: YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
   (1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809).

D. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

4. Procedure
Subtask 71-22-11-420-066-A
A. Installation of the Aft Engine Mount Bolts (One at a time)
NOTE: This procedure is applicable to one aft engine mount bolt.
   (1) Install the new AIPC 71-22-86-52-080 RETAINER (7) and a new AIPC 71-22-86-52-070 BARREL NUT (6) in the engine mount.
CAUTION: INSTALL THE BARREL NUT WITH THE ROUNDED SIDE UP. IF NOT, DAMAGE TO THE BARREL NUT CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Check that the barrel nut (6) is in good position and orientation.
   (2) Install the new
AIPC 71-22-86-52-050 BOLT (3) and the new AIPC 71-22-86-52-060 WASHER (4).
NOTE: Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Friction - - (Material No.03QEA1) :
  • Under the screws heads
  • On the screws and nuts threads
  • On both face of the washers.
   (3) Torque the aft mount bolt (3).
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE PROTRUSION OF THE BOLT ABOVE THE NUT IS EQUAL TO OR MORE THAN THE DIMENSION OF THE BOLT THREAD CHAMFER. IF THE PROTRUSION IS NOT SUFFICIENT, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE BOLT WILL NOT BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
     (a) TORQUE the aft mount bolt (3) to between 33 and 27 m.daN (243.36 and 199.12 lbf.ft ) T.
   (4) Install the locking plate system of the aft engine mount.
     (a) Install and attach the locking plate (2) to the retainer bracket (5) with the screw (1).
     (b) TORQUE the screw (1) to between 0.47 and 0.37 m.daN (41.59 and 32.74 lbf.in )

   (5) Install the screws (8), the washers (9) and the nuts (10).
   (6) TORQUE the screws (8) to between 6.69 and 5.57 m.daN (49.34 and 41.08 lbf.ft )
T.
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
   (7) Install the cotter pin according to AIPS 03-06-014.
