SPECIAL DETAILED INSPECTION (ENDOSCOPE) OF AFT ENGINE MOUNT PINS
This inspection criterion is only for those parts of the engine that you can see when the engine is installed on an aircraft. The limits and remarks are not applicable to the areas of the mount that you cannot see when the engine is installed.

A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU, make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to start the engine.
   (2) On overhead maintenance panel 50VU, make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off. Make sure that a WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
   (4) Make sure that the slats are retracted and install the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS on the flap and slat control lever.

Subtask 71-22-11-280-050-A ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
A. Special Detailed Inspection (Endoscope) of the Shear Bolt and Shear Pin
CAUTION: ONLY CHECK ONE PIN AT A TIME.
   (1) Removal of one shear bolt at the turbine case attachment.
F Aft Engine Mount ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Remove the retaining pin (5) from the shear pin (15).
     (b) Remove the bolts (30), washers (35) and (50) and nuts (55) which attach the outer retainers (60) and (70) to the bracket (40).
     (c) Remove the outer retainers (60) and (70) from the engine.
     (d) Remove the slotted spanner nut (65) from the shear bolt (10).
     (e) Remove the shear bolt (10).
       1 If you cannot remove the shear bolt (10), replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-041) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-041) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-043) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-043).
   (2) Special detailed inspection (endoscope) of the shear bolt and shear pin.
F Aft Engine Mount ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Do a special detailed inspection of the shear bolt and shear pin, using a BORESCOPE - FLEXIBLE dia. up to 5 mm (0.1969 in.) and a MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
       1 Clean any dirt or unwanted material from the shear bolt (10) and the inner surface of the shear pin (15) with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
         a Do a visual inspection of the shear pin (outer and inner surface of the pin) and bolt bore for unusual step(s), groove(s), unusual machining marks and sign of damage. Use FLASHLIGHT if needed.
The inner and outer surface should be a smooth, constant machined diameter where no disruption is witnessed. If any of these defects are found parts must be discarded and replaced.
       2 Examine the shear bolt (10) and the inner surface of the shear pin (15) for cracks. No cracks are permitted. If cracks are found, replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-041) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-041) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-043) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-043).
   (3) Installation of the shear bolt at the turbine case attachment.
F Aft Engine Mount ** ON A/C NOT FOR ALL
     (a) Visually examine the retainers (60) and (70) and the nut (65) for indication of damage. If there are scratches, marks and/or other damage, reject the parts.
     (b) Apply silicone lubricant (Material No.CP5063) to the threads of the shear bolt (10).
     (c) Install the shear bolt (10) into the shear pin (15).
CAUTION: USE OF THE SPANNER WRENCHES AS A TORQUE WRENCH ADAPTER WILL CHANGE THE TORQUE VALUE WHICH IS REALLY APPLIED. THE EFFECTIVE LENGTH OF THE SPANNER WRENCHES ARE: RSE1098-1 : 6-INCHES (152.4 MM) RSE1098-5 : 8-INCHES (203.2 MM)
     (d) Install the slotted spanner.
NOTE: To find the correct torque value when spanner wrenches are used, refer to the formula in the standard practices (Ref. AMM TASK 20-21-11-911-001).
     (e) Install the slotted spanner nut (65) on the shear bolt (10).
       1 TORQUE the nut (65) to between 42 and 35 lbf.ft (5.69 and 4.75 m.daN ) T.
       2 Use the
RSE1098 WRENCH SET - AFT ENGINE MOUNT to adapt the torque wrench to the spanner nut (65).
NOTE: It is recommended that you position the flat side of the nut (65) forward.
     (f) Install the outer retainers (60) and (70) on the bracket (40) with washers (35) below bolts (30) and washers (50) below nuts (55).
     (g) If the holes in the anti-rotation bracket (60) do not line up with the holes in the brackets (70) and (40), increase the torque on nut (65) as necessary to line up the holes. Do not TORQUE the nut (65) more than 42 lbf.ft (5.69 m.daN).
     (h) TORQUE the nuts (55) to between 27 and 24 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN ) T.
     (i) Install the retaining pin (5) through the shear pin (15).
   (4) Do Steps 4.A.(1) to (3) again for the other two shear bolts and shear pins.

B. Special Detailed Inspection (Endoscope) of the Shear Bolt at the Cross Beam Attachment
PRE SB RA32071-164
   (1) Removal of one shear bolt at the cross beam attachment.
     (a) Remove the retaining pin (135) from the shear pin (145).
     (b) Remove the nuts (120), washers (115), bolts (105) and washers (110).
     (c) Remove the outer retainers (125) and (130) from the engine.
     (d) Remove the nut (165) from the shear bolt (140).
     (e) Remove the shear bolt (140).
       1 If you cannot remove the shear bolt (140), replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-041) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-041) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-043) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-043).
   (2) Special detailed inspection (endoscope) of the shear bolt and shear pin.
     (a) Do a special detailed inspection of the shear bolt and shear pin with a BORESCOPE - FLEXIBLE dia. up to 5 mm (0.1969 in.) and a MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
       1 Clean any dirt or unwanted material from the shear bolt (140) and the inner surface of the shear pin (145) with isopropyl alcohol (Material No.CP1041) .
         a Do a visual inspection of the shear pin (outer and inner surface of the pin) and bolt bore for unusual step(s), groove(s), unusual machining marks and sign of damage. Use FLASHLIGHT if needed.
The inner and outer surface should be a smooth, constant machined diameter where no disruption is witnessed. If any of these defects are found parts must be discarded and replaced.
       2 Examine the shear bolt (140) and the inner surface of the shear pin (145) for cracks. No cracks are permitted. If cracks are found, replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-041) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-041) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-043) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-043).
   (3) Installation of the shear bolt at the cross beam attachment.
     (a) Visually examine the retainers (125) and (130) and nut (165) for indication of damage. If there are scratches, marks and/or other damage, reject the parts.
     (b) Apply silicone lubricant (Material No.CP5063) to the threads of the shear bolt (140).
     (c) Install the shear bolt (140) into the shear pin (145).
     (d) Install the nuts (165).
     (e) TORQUE the nuts to the minimum value of to between 42 and 35 lbf.ft (5.69 and 4.75 m.daN ) T.
       1 Torque the nuts (165) to the minimum value. Increase the value as necessary to align the nuts with the anti-rotation retainers (125), when the retainers are installed.
     (f) Temporarily install the anti-rotation retainers (125) and record the position necessary for the alignment of the nuts. Then, increase the torque on the nuts (165) as necessary (do not torque more than the maximum torque value), to align the nuts with the retainers (125).
     (g) With the nuts (165) torqued and in aligned position, install the outer retainers (125) and (130) with the bolts (105), washers (110) and (115) and nuts (120).
     (h) TORQUE the nuts (120) to between 27 and 24 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN )
T.
     (i) Install the retaining pin (135) through the shear pin (145).
   (4) Do Steps 4.B.(1) to (3) again for the other two shear bolts and shear pins.

C. Special Detailed Inspection (Endoscope) of the Shear Bolt and Link Assembly from the Left Hand Link
POST SB RA32071-164
   (1) Link Assembly Bearing Inspection.
     (a)
     (b) If gap is less than 0.006 inches, this is an indication of bushing wear. It is recommended to perform a bushing and bearing replacement at the first visit of the component to a maintenance base capable of compliance with the accomplishment instructions regardless of the planned maintenance action.
   (2) Removal of the shear bolt from the left hand link.
     (a) Remove the retaining pin (110) from the shear pin (130).
     (b) Remove the nuts (50), washers (45) and bolts (20).
     (c) Remove the outer retainers (73) and (63) from the engine.
     (d) Remove and discard the lock nut (80) from the shear bolt (120).
     (e) Remove the shear bolt (120).
       1 If you cannot remove the shear bolt (120), replace the mount (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-041) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-041) or (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-000-043) and (Ref. AMM TASK 71-22-11-400-043).
   (3) Special detailed inspection (endoscope) of the shear bolt and shear pin.
     (a) Do a special detailed inspection of the shear bolt and shear pin with a BORESCOPE - FLEXIBLE dia. up to 5 mm (0.1969 in.) and a MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.

   (4) Installation of the shear bolt on the left hand link.
     (a) Visually examine the retainers (73) and (63) for indication of damage. If there are scratches, marks and/or other damage, reject the parts.
     (b) Check the torque on the installed large nut (90). Confirm the torque is between 80.00 lbf.ft (10.85 m.daN) and 95.00 lbf.ft (12.88 m.daN). Re-torque within range, required.
     (c) Apply silicone lubricant (Material No.CP5063) to the threads of the shear bolt (120).
     (d) Install the shear bolt (120) into the shear pin (130).
     (e) Install the new AIPC 71-22-11-01-080 LOCK NUTS (80).
     (f) TORQUE the nuts to the minimum value of to between 71.02 and 66.00 lbf.ft (9.63 and 8.95 m.daN )
T.
       1 TORQUE the lock nuts (80) to the minimum value. Increase the value as necessary to align the nuts with the anti-rotation retainers (73), when the retainers are installed.
     (g) Temporarily install the anti-rotation retainers (73) and record the position necessary for the alignment of the nuts. Then, increase the torque on the lock nuts (80) as necessary (do not torque more than the maximum torque value) to align the nuts with the retainers (73).
     (h) With the lock nuts (80) torqued and in aligned position, install the outer retainers (73) and (63) with the bolts (20), washers (45) and nuts (50).
     (i) TORQUE the nuts (50) to between 27 and 24 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN )
T.
     (j) Install the retaining pin (110) through the shear pin (130).

     (b) Check the torque on the installed large nut (90). Confirm the torque is between 80.00 lbf.ft (10.85 m.daN) and 95.00 lbf.ft (12.88 m.daN). Re-torque within range, if required.
     (c) Apply silicone lubricant (Material No.CP5063) to the threads of the shear bolt (120).
     (d) Install the shear bolt (120) into the shear pin (130).
     (e) Install the new AIPC 71-22-11-01-080 LOCK NUTS (80).
     (f) TORQUE the nuts to the minimum value of to between 71.02 and 66.00 lbf.ft (9.63 and 8.95 m.daN )

       1 Torque the lock nuts (80) to the minimum value; increase the value as necessary to align the nuts with the anti-rotation retainers (75), when the retainers are installed.
     (g) Temporarily install the anti-rotation retainers (75) and record the position necessary for the alignment of the nuts. Then increase the torque on the lock nuts (80) as necessary (do not torque more than the maximum torque value), to align the nuts with the retainers (75).
     (h) With the lock nuts (80) torqued and in aligned position, install the outer retainers (75) and (65) with the bolts (20), washers (45) and nuts (50).
     (i) TORQUE the nuts (50) to between 27 and 24 lbf.in (0.31 and 0.27 m.daN )

   (3) Special detailed inspection (endoscope) of the shear bolt and shear pin.
     (a) Do a special detailed inspection of the shear bolt and shear pin, with a BORESCOPE - FLEXIBLE dia. up to 5 mm (0.1969 in.) and a MAGNIFYING GLASS POWER 10X.
