Installation of the Forward Engine Mount Bolts (One at a time)

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-21-11-010-095-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
Subtask 71-21-11-010-096-A WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for ground maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-809). D. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the thrust reverser cowl-doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-010-806):

A. Installation of the Forward Engine Mount Bolts (One at a time)
(2) Install the new AIPC 71-21-86-52-010 BOLT (9) or AIPC 71-21-86-53-010 BOLT (9), new AIPC 71-21-86-52-020 WASHER (10) or AIPC 71-21-86-53-020 WASHER (10), new AIPC 71-21-86-52-030 NUT (2) or AIPC 71-21-86-53-030 NUT (2) and new AIPC 71-21-86-52-020 WASHER (3) or AIPC 71-21-86-53-020 WASHER (3).
(4) TORQUE the screw (5) to between 41.59 and 32.74 lbf.in (0.47 and 0.37 m.daN )

(5) Torque the forward mount bolt.

(6) Install the locking plate system of the bolt of the forward engine mount (6).
(a) Install the locking plate (8) and attach it to the retainer (11) with the screw (7).
(b) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 41.59 and 32.74 lbf.in (0.47 and 0.37 m.daN )

5. Close-upNOTE: This procedure is applicable to one forward engine mount bolt.
(1) Install the retainers (4) and (11). (2) Install the new AIPC 71-21-86-52-010 BOLT (9) or AIPC 71-21-86-53-010 BOLT (9), new AIPC 71-21-86-52-020 WASHER (10) or AIPC 71-21-86-53-020 WASHER (10), new AIPC 71-21-86-52-030 NUT (2) or AIPC 71-21-86-53-030 NUT (2) and new AIPC 71-21-86-52-020 WASHER (3) or AIPC 71-21-86-53-020 WASHER (3).
NOTE: Apply Dry lubricant-Anti Friction - - (Material No.03QEA1) :
(3) Install the retainer (1) and attach it to the retainer brackets (4) with the screw (5). - Under the screws heads
- On the screws and nuts threads
- On both face of the washers.
(4) TORQUE the screw (5) to between 41.59 and 32.74 lbf.in (0.47 and 0.37 m.daN )
. (5) Torque the forward mount bolt.
CAUTION:
MAKE SURE THAT THE PROTRUSION OF THE BOLT ABOVE THE NUT IS EQUAL TO OR MORE THAN THE DIMENSION OF THE BOLT THREAD CHAMFER. IF THE PROTRUSION IS NOT SUFFICIENT, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE BOLT WILL NOT BE CORRECTLY INSTALLED.
(a) TORQUE the forward mount bolt (9) to between 421.83 and 345.13 lbf.ft (57.19 and 46.79 m.daN )
.(6) Install the locking plate system of the bolt of the forward engine mount (6).
(a) Install the locking plate (8) and attach it to the retainer (11) with the screw (7).
(b) TORQUE the screws (7) to between 41.59 and 32.74 lbf.in (0.47 and 0.37 m.daN )

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the thrust reverser cowl-doors (Ref. AMM TASK 78-36-00-410-806):
