Installation of the Ventilation Grid (right and left)
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT EXTEND THE SLATS WHEN THE FAN COWLS AND THE THRUST REVERSER COWLS ARE OPEN. IF YOU DO THIS, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-47-010-053-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

A. Installation of the Ventilation Grid, Left Side
(1) Clean the ventilation grid (4) and the mating surfaces of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Apply a thin layer of SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.CPNCL01420) on the mating surfaces of the ventilation grid (4).
(3) Carefully put the ventilation grid (4) in position on the fan cowl door.
(4) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(5) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(6) Remove the ventilation grid (4).
(7) Apply RELEASE AGENT QZ 5111 (Material No.CPNCL00245) on the ventilation grid (4) contact surface zone.
(8) Carefully put the ventilation grid (4) in position on the fan cowl door.
(9) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(10) Install the ventilation grid (4) with bolts (6) and washers (5).
(a) Wet-install the fasteners with Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) .
(11) TORQUE the bolts (6) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in ).
(12) Apply MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) on the fasteners.

(8) Carefully put the ventilation grid (4) in position on the fan cowl door.
(9) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(10) Install the ventilation grid (4) with bolts (6) and washers (5).

B. Installation of the Ventilation Grid, Right Side
(1) Clean the ventilation grid (1) and mating surfaces of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Apply a thin layer of SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.CPNCL01420) on the mating surfaces of the ventilation grid (1).
(3) Carefully put the ventilation grid (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(4) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(5) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(6) Remove the ventilation grid (1).
(7) Apply RELEASE AGENT QZ 5111 (Material No.CPNCL00245) on the ventilation grid (1) contact surface zone.
(8) Carefully put the ventilation grid (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(9) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(10) Install the ventilation grid (1) with the bolts (3) and washers (2).
(a) Wet-install the fasteners with Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) .
(11) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in ).
(12) Apply MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) on the fasteners.

5. Close-up(1) Clean the ventilation grid (1) and mating surfaces of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Apply a thin layer of SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.CPNCL01420) on the mating surfaces of the ventilation grid (1).
(3) Carefully put the ventilation grid (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(4) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(5) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(6) Remove the ventilation grid (1).
(7) Apply RELEASE AGENT QZ 5111 (Material No.CPNCL00245) on the ventilation grid (1) contact surface zone.
(8) Carefully put the ventilation grid (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(9) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(10) Install the ventilation grid (1) with the bolts (3) and washers (2).
(a) Wet-install the fasteners with Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) .
(11) TORQUE the bolts (3) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )
