Rigging Procedure of the Oil Tank Door Latches
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
CAUTION:
DO NOT EXTEND THE SLATS WHEN THE FAN COWLS AND THE THRUST REVERSER COWLS ARE OPEN. IF YOU DO THIS, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-42-010-058-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
- The ENG/MODE selector switch
- The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.

B. Get Access
(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the right fan cowl door.
4. Procedure(1) Open the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)

(2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE in position in front of the right fan cowl door.

A. Rigging Procedure of the Oil Tank Door Latches
(1) With the latch closed, turn the rigging bolt to get contact between the latch trigger and the oil tank door frame.
(2) Tighten 1.5 additional turns.
(3) Do again the steps 4.A.(1) and 4.A.(2) with the other latch.
(4) Use a DYNAMOMETER 10 DAN (22 LBF) - PUSH to make sure that the closing load is to between 5.34 daN (12.00 lbf) and 7.12 daN (16.01 lbf).
(5) Tighten/loosen each rigging bolt to get this closing force range.
(6) Hold the latch bolts with an allen key and install locking nut.
(7) TORQUE the locking nut to between 0.33 and 0.23 m.daN (29.20 and 20.35 lbf.in )

(8) Use a DYNAMOMETER 10 DAN (22 LBF) - PUSH to make sure that the closing load is to between 5.34 daN (12.00 lbf) and 7.12 daN (16.01 lbf).
5. Close-up(1) With the latch closed, turn the rigging bolt to get contact between the latch trigger and the oil tank door frame.
(2) Tighten 1.5 additional turns.
(3) Do again the steps 4.A.(1) and 4.A.(2) with the other latch.
(4) Use a DYNAMOMETER 10 DAN (22 LBF) - PUSH to make sure that the closing load is to between 5.34 daN (12.00 lbf) and 7.12 daN (16.01 lbf).
(5) Tighten/loosen each rigging bolt to get this closing force range.
(6) Hold the latch bolts with an allen key and install locking nut.

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

(3) Remove the access platform(s).
(4) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
(a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)
