Installation of the Oil Tank Door
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT EXTEND THE SLATS WHEN THE FAN COWLS AND THE THRUST REVERSER COWLS ARE OPEN. IF YOU DO THIS, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-42-010-057-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Get Access
(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in front of the right fan cowl door.
4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) - ADJUSTABLE is in position in front of the right fan cowl door.
Subtask 71-13-42-420-052-A
A. Installation of the Oil Tank Door
(1) Clean the oil tank door (1) and mating surfaces of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Carefully put the oil tank door (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(3) Do a visual inspection of the liquid shim. Do steps 4.A.(3)(a) thru 4.A.(3)(i) only if the liquid shim is damaged.
(a) Remove the liquid or liquid/solid shim from the mating surface of the fan cowl door.
(b) Clean the oil tank door (1) and mating surface of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(c) Temporarily install the oil tank door (1) on the right fan cowl door. Use the bolts (2), the washers (3) and the new AIPC 71-13-11-18-020 NUTS (4).
(e) Remove the nuts (4), the bolts (2), the washers (3) and the oil tank door (1) from the fan cowl door.
(f) Apply a liquid or liquid/solid shim.
1 If the maximum distance recorded in Step 4.A.(3)(d) is 0.50 mm (0.020 in.) or less, apply a liquid shim ofCPNCL01027 TWO PART PASTE ADHESIVE (HYSOL EA 9394) .
CPNCL01027 TWO PART PASTE ADHESIVE (HYSOL EA 9394) and a solid shim of CPNCL02159 EPOXY PREPREG CARBON FABRIC (AGP 193-PW 8552RC40) .
(g) Apply RELEASE AGENT QZ 5111 (Material No.CPNCL00245) on the oil tank door (1) contact surface zone.
(h) Temporarily install the oil tank door (1) on the right fan cowl door. Use the bolts (2), washers (3) and nuts (4).
(i) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(j) Remove the nuts (4), bolts (2), washers (3) and the oil tank door (1) from the fan cowl door.
(4) Apply a thin layer of SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.CPNCL01420) on the mating surfaces of the oil tank door hinges.
(5) Carefully put the oil tank door (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(6) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(7) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(8) Install the oil tank door (1) with the bolts (2), washers (3) and nuts (4).
(9) Wet install the fasteners with Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) .
(10) TORQUE the bolts (2) to between 0.28 and 0.22 m.daN (24.78 and 19.47 lbf.in )

(11) Brush-seal the bolts (2) with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) .
(12) Apply SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.CPNCL01420) andCPNCL00700 ELECTRICAL BONDING COATING (BLUE COLOR) on the electrical bonding (two contact points) (Ref. AMM TASK 20-28-00-912-802).
Subtask 71-13-42-820-050-A (1) Clean the oil tank door (1) and mating surfaces of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Carefully put the oil tank door (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(3) Do a visual inspection of the liquid shim. Do steps 4.A.(3)(a) thru 4.A.(3)(i) only if the liquid shim is damaged.
(a) Remove the liquid or liquid/solid shim from the mating surface of the fan cowl door.
(b) Clean the oil tank door (1) and mating surface of the fan cowl door. Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(c) Temporarily install the oil tank door (1) on the right fan cowl door. Use the bolts (2), the washers (3) and the new AIPC 71-13-11-18-020 NUTS (4).
NOTE: Make sure that the distance between the edge of the oil tank door (1) and the fan cowl door is between 1 mm (0.04 in.) and 5 mm (0.20 in.).
(d) Measure and record the maximum distance between the oil tank door (1) and the fan cowl door. (e) Remove the nuts (4), the bolts (2), the washers (3) and the oil tank door (1) from the fan cowl door.
(f) Apply a liquid or liquid/solid shim.
1 If the maximum distance recorded in Step 4.A.(3)(d) is 0.50 mm (0.020 in.) or less, apply a liquid shim of
NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
2 If the maximum distance recorded in Step 4.A.(3)(d) is between 0.51 mm (0.020 in.) and 1.2 mm (0.047 in.), apply a liquid/solid shim of NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions.
3 A clearance more than 1.2 mm (0.047 in.) is not permitted. (g) Apply RELEASE AGENT QZ 5111 (Material No.CPNCL00245) on the oil tank door (1) contact surface zone.
(h) Temporarily install the oil tank door (1) on the right fan cowl door. Use the bolts (2), washers (3) and nuts (4).
(i) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(j) Remove the nuts (4), bolts (2), washers (3) and the oil tank door (1) from the fan cowl door.
(4) Apply a thin layer of SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.CPNCL01420) on the mating surfaces of the oil tank door hinges.
(5) Carefully put the oil tank door (1) in position on the fan cowl door.
(6) Remove the unwanted sealant.
(7) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(8) Install the oil tank door (1) with the bolts (2), washers (3) and nuts (4).
(9) Wet install the fasteners with Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) .
(10) TORQUE the bolts (2) to between 0.28 and 0.22 m.daN (24.78 and 19.47 lbf.in )

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
