Installation of the Lever Assy

BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-41-010-064-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

B. Get Access

4. Procedure(1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):

A. Installation of the Lever Assy
(2) Pull the keeper (15) to keep it in the closed position.
(3) Clean the lever assy (8) with GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(4) Put the lever assy (8) in position on the flag housing assy (11).
(5) Make sure that the lever assy (8) is engaged in the keeper's axis (15). See the sheet 2 of the figure:
(6) Install the pin (10), bushing (9), washer (7) and AIPC 71-13-10-10-210 NUT (6).
(a) Brush-seal the fasteners with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) .
(b) TORQUE the nut (6) to between 0.336 and 0.25 m.daN (29.73 and 22.12 lbf.in )

(7) Safety the nut (6) with the AIPC 71-13-10-10-220 COTTER PIN (5).
(a) Brush-seal the fasteners with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) .
(8) Release the keeper (15) to let it go back in open position.
(9) Install the cover plate (12) on the housing keeper assy (11) with the screws (14) and washers (13).
(a) Brush-seal the fasteners with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) .
(10) TORQUE the screws (14) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )

(11) At the lower end of the push-pull cable (1), install the washer (2) and pin (4).
(a) Brush-seal the fasteners with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) .
(12) Safety the pin (4) with the AIPC 71-13-10-17-020 COTTER PIN (3).
(13) Brush seal the fasteners with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) .
Subtask 71-13-41-820-055-A WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(1) Remove the cover plate (12) attached with screws (14) and washers (13) from the housing keeper assy (11). (2) Pull the keeper (15) to keep it in the closed position.
(3) Clean the lever assy (8) with GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(4) Put the lever assy (8) in position on the flag housing assy (11).
(5) Make sure that the lever assy (8) is engaged in the keeper's axis (15). See the sheet 2 of the figure:

B. Check and Adjustment of the Push-Pull Cable
(1) After the system installation, do the checks that follow:

- The system works correctly when you pull the keeper.
- With the keeper in the closed position, the flag must not be extended more than the fan cowl skin.
- With the system in the open position, make sure that the flag is completely open.
