WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.

Subtask 71-13-41-941-061-A
A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch,
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
   (3) Make sure that the slats are in the fully retracted position (Ref. AMM TASK 27-80-00-866-005).
   (4) Make sure that the 98D27803500001 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS or 98D27803500002 LOCKING TOOL ZERO POS is on the flap and slat control lever on panel 114VU.

B. Get Access
   (1) Make sure that the fan cowl doors are open (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-010-803):
     (a) FOR [4020KM1] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 1)

     (b) FOR [4020KM2] (POWER PLANT-DEMOUNTABLE, ENGINE 2)
447AL 448AR.
   (2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 1M(3 FT) is in position.
4. Procedure
Subtask 71-13-41-420-057-A
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
A. Installation of the Push-Pull Cable

PRE SPOL BD-FC-18003

   (1) Clean the push-pull cable (1) with GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
   (2) Carefully put the push-pull cable (1) in position on the fan cowl door:
     (a) Install the upper end of the push-pull cable (1) in the same position as before it was removed.
   (3) If necessary, adjust the length of the push-pull cable (1) to make sure that it is torqued to between 0.9 and 0.7 m.daN (79.65 and 61.95 lbf.in ) T.
   (4) At the upper end of the push-pull cable (1), install the washer (2) and the pin (4).
   (5) Safety the pin (4) with the
AIPC 71-13-10-17-020 COTTER PIN (3).
   (6) Installation of the clamps:
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE CLAMPS ARE INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT POSITION. IF YOU DO NOT OBEY THIS INSTRUCTION, DAMAGE TO THE PUSH-PULL CABLE CAN OCCUR.
     (a) Install the clamps (9) with the washers (10) and the bolts (11).
   (7) TORQUE the bolts (11) to between 0.48 and 0.37 m.daN (42.48 and 32.74 lbf.in )
T.
   (8) At the lower end of the push-pull cable (1), install the washer (2) and the pin (4).
   (9) Safety the pin (4) with the
AIPC 71-13-10-17-020 COTTER PIN (3).
   (10) Brush-seal the fasteners with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.
CPNCL00338) .
   (11) Install the push-pull cable (1) on the bracket (13) at the location of the nuts (8) and (5).
   (12) Make sure that both the washers (7) are on each side of the bracket (13).
   (13) TORQUE the push-pull cable nuts (8) and (5) to between 2 and 1.9 m.daN (14.75 and 14.01 lbf.ft ) T.
   (14) Installation of the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the push-pull cable nut (8) with two CPNCL02150Wire - LOCKWIRE A (MS20995C32) (6).

B. Installation of the Push-Pull Cable

POST SPOL BD-FC-18003

   (1) Clean the push-pull cable (1) with GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.
CPNCL02589) and a LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
   (2) Carefully put the push-pull cable (1) in position on the fan cowl door:
     (a) Install the upper end of the push-pull cable (1) in the same position as before it was removed.
   (3) If necessary, adjust the length of the push-pull cable (1) to make sure that it is torqued to between 0.9 and 0.7 m.daN (79.65 and 61.95 lbf.in ) T.
   (4) At the upper end of the push-pull cable (1), install the washer (2) and the pin (4).
   (5) Safety the pin (4) with the
AIPC 71-13-10-17-020 COTTER PIN (3).
   (6) Installation of the clamps:

   (12) Make sure that both the washers (7) are on each side of the bracket (13).
   (13) TORQUE the push-pull cable nuts (8) and (5) to between 2 and 1.9 m.daN (14.75 and 14.01 lbf.ft ) T.
   (14) Installation of the lockwire:
WARNING: USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
     (a) Safety the push-pull cable nuts (8) and (5) with CPNCL02150Wire - LOCKWIRE A (MS20995C32) (6).

   (5) Remove the WARNING NOTICE(S).
