A. Safety Precautions
   (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
     (b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
     (c) Put WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate:
  • The ENG/MODE selector switch
  • The ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch.
   (2) On the ENG section of maintenance panel 50VU:
     (a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
     (b) Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).

   (1) Remove all the sealant from the metallic strips to be replaced with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC and CPNCL00585ABRASIVE (Emery Cloth) (150 grit).
   (2) Remove and discard the metallic strips to be replaced, from the fan cowl skin.

   (1) Remove all the sealant from the metallic strips to be replaced with the SCRAPER - NON METALLIC and the CPNCL00585ABRASIVE (Emery Cloth) (150 grit).
   (2) Remove and discard the metallic strips to be replaced, from the fan cowl skin.
   (3) For the L-shape metallic strips (26), (27), (28), (29), (30), (31), (32), (33), (34), (37), (38), (39), (40), (41), (42), (43), (44) and (45) record the height of the L-shape metallic strips to be replaced. Refer to

   (1) Clean the fan cowl skin with LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
   (2) Apply a thin layer of SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.CPNCL01420) on the mating surfaces of the metallic strips to be replaced.
   (3) Carefully put the metallic strips:
   (4) Remove the unwanted sealant with the LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with the GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
   (5) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.

POST SPOL BD-FC-18002 AND POST SB BD70CR71-023

   (1) Clean the fan cowl skin with the LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with the GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
   (2) Protection of the external skin from promoter and sealant during further steps:
     (a) Install the TAPE - ADHESIVE on the outer side of the fan cowl, flush with the leading edge.
   (3) Apply CPNCL01343POLYSULFIDE SEALANT ADHESION PROMOTER (PR 148 AF) on the contact surfaces of the metallic strips to be replaced and the fan cowl.
   (4) Let the POLYSULFIDE SEALANT ADHESION PROMOTER (PR 148 AF) (Material No. CPNCL01343) cure 15 minutes.
   (5) Apply a thin layer of the SEALANT LOW DENSITY-FUEL TANK & GP (Material No.CPNCL01420) on the mating surfaces of the metallic strips to be replaced.
   (6) Install the TAPE- TEFLON thickness 5.00 mm (0.20 in.) on the outer face of the fan cowl with the TAPE - ADHESIVE.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE METALLIC STRIPS ARE CORRECTLY SAFETIED WITH A CLAMP EVERY 50.00 MM (1.968 IN.). IF THEY ARE NOT, THERE IS A RISK OF METALLIC STRIP DISBOND IN SERVICE.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE L METALLIC STRIPS ARE IN CORRECT POSITION AND IN CONTACT WITH THE INTERNAL SURFACE AND LEADING EDGE OF THE FAN COWL. IF THEY ARE NOT, THERE IS A RISK OF METALLIC STRIP DISBOND IN SERVICE.
CAUTION: PUT TEFLON PARTS ON THE TWO SIDES OF THE SKIN TO PROTECT THE EXTERNAL SKIN PAINT FROM DAMAGE AND TO HAVE A HOMOGENEOUS CRUSHING OF THE METALLIC STRIP DURING SEALING.
   (7) Carefully put the metallic strips:
   (8) Install the TAPE- TEFLON thickness 5.00 mm (0.20 in.) in position on the metallic strips and secure with the CLAMPS every 50.00 mm (1.969 in.).
   (9) Remove the unwanted sealant with the LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.
CPNCL02069) made moist with the GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
   (10) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
   (11) Remove the TAPE- TEFLON thickness 5.00 mm (0.20 in.) and the TAPE - ADHESIVE from the fan cowl.
   (12) Clean the work area with the LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) made moist with the GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) .
