Installation of the RWD Guide Ramp Protector (RH/LH)
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN. USE APPLICABLE THERMAL GLOVES. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ONE HOUR AFTER SHUTDOWN AND CAN BURN YOU.
WARNING:
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION:
DO NOT EXTEND THE SLATS WHEN THE FAN COWLS AND THE THRUST REVERSER COWLS ARE OPEN. IF YOU DO THIS, DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT CAN OCCUR.

Subtask 71-13-16-941-060-A
A. Safety Precautions
(1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:
(a) Make sure that the ENG/MODE selector switch is in the NORM position.
(b) Make sure that the ENG/MASTER 1(2) control switch was in the OFF position not less than five minutes before you do this procedure.
(c) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position to tell persons not to operate:
(a) Make sure that the ON legend of the FADEC GND PWR/1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
(b) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) is in position to tell persons not to energize FADEC 1(2).
Subtask 71-13-16-010-064-A (1) On the center pedestal, on ENG panel 115VU:

C. Deactivation of the Thrust Reverser System for Maintenance
4. ProcedureWARNING:
YOU MUST DEACTIVATE THE THRUST REVERSER BEFORE YOU DO WORK ON OR AROUND IT. IF YOU DO NOT, THE THRUST REVERSER CAN OPERATE ACCIDENTALLY AND CAUSE AN INJURY AND/OR DAMAGE.
(1) Make sure that you did the deactivation of the thrust reverser system for maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-040-807). Subtask 71-13-16-420-056-A
A. Installation of the RWD Guide Ramp Protector, Left Hand (LH) Side and Right Hand (RH) Side
(1) Clean the RWD guide ramp protector (1) or (2) and mating surfaces of the fan cowl door.
(a) Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) on the mating surfaces of the RWD guide ramp protector (1) or (2).
(3) Carefully put the RWD guide ramp protector (1) or (2) in position on the RWD guide ramp (5) or (6).
(4) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(5) Wet install the fasteners with Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) .
(a) Install the RWD guide ramp protector (1) or (2) with the bolt (3) or (4), washer (7) or (8) and the new AIPC 71-13-11-14-040 NUT (9) or the new AIPC 71-13-10-13-040 NUT (10).
(6) TORQUE the nut (9) or (10) to between 0.37 and 0.28 m.daN (32.74 and 24.78 lbf.in )

(7) Installation of the cotter pin
(8) Brush seal the fasteners with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) .
(9) Remove the unwanted sealant with GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
5. Close-up(1) Clean the RWD guide ramp protector (1) or (2) and mating surfaces of the fan cowl door.
(a) Use GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .
(2) Apply a thin layer of Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) on the mating surfaces of the RWD guide ramp protector (1) or (2).
(3) Carefully put the RWD guide ramp protector (1) or (2) in position on the RWD guide ramp (5) or (6).
(4) Let the sealant cure. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for the cure time.
(5) Wet install the fasteners with Polysulfide Sealant - General Purpose Interfay (Material No.CPNCL01237) .
(a) Install the RWD guide ramp protector (1) or (2) with the bolt (3) or (4), washer (7) or (8) and the new AIPC 71-13-11-14-040 NUT (9) or the new AIPC 71-13-10-13-040 NUT (10).
(6) TORQUE the nut (9) or (10) to between 0.37 and 0.28 m.daN (32.74 and 24.78 lbf.in )
. (7) Installation of the cotter pin
WARNING:
USE PROTECTIVE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL A COTTER PIN. EACH TIME YOU REMOVE A COTTER PIN DURING THE TASK, DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. A LOOSE COTTER PIN CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND.
(a) Safety the nut (9) or (10) with the new AIPC 71-13-11-14-050 COTTER PIN (11) or the new AIPC 71-13-11-13-050 COTTER PIN (12) . (8) Brush seal the fasteners with MASTINOX D40 (Material No.CPNCL00338) .
(9) Remove the unwanted sealant with GENERAL CLEANING AGENT - MULTI PURPOSE (Material No.CPNCL02589) and LINT-FREE COTTON CLOTH (Material No.CPNCL02069) .

A. Do the reactivation of the thrust reverser system after maintenance (Ref. AMM TASK 78-30-00-440-807).

(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tools and other items.
(2) Close the fan cowl doors (Ref. AMM TASK 71-13-00-410-803):
